View Full Version : how to block off nitrous fogger jet?

I've got a single nitrous wet jet fogger that is installed on my TB elbow that I won't use.

I've been trying to figure out a way to block it off so it won't be a boost leak. I already went to the HW store to try and find some acorn nuts or something, but all are too big.

I don't want to pull the jet because that'll leave a gaping hole that's close to 3/8" in diameter. Any suggestions?

Should I just install the jets, get a single nitrous line and connect each end to the jets? Do they make blockoff fittings for these? I really don't want to install the solenoids because I don't have the room right now (Still have the battery under the hood). Plus, everything else is still installed on the Mirage.

This is Holly's NOS brand sportman single jet wet kit setup if it matters

...And no, saying "just run nitrous" is not an option. It scares the shit outta me to run it. :D I don't need a spoolup kit. :p

You will probably need to look at plumbing fittings. There are several different types of threads, you can't "successfully" use the threads designed for nuts and bolts (UNF, UNC or metric M series) on plumbing fittings. They usually take one of the NPT (national pipe thread) fittings. Pipe threads are tapered ( the tip of the fitting is slightly smaller in diameter than the body of the fitting so it "wedges" and creates a tight leak proof seal). Although occasionally very small nozzles and such will use the machine screw thread sizes like 10-24, 10-32 etc.

I'm not positive what the thread is on those jets but a few minutes on the phone should get that information for you. Then all you need to do is trot down to your local hardware store and look in the plumbing section for the fitting that has the right thread. I would guess the section where the brass fittings would be a good place to start.

Based on this web page it looks like they use NPT threads.

If I had to guess, the hose end is likely a 1/8 NPT working from memory.

Most foggers are 1/8 NPT.

The N/X Pirahna are 1/16th NPT.

Whats wrong with getting another TB elbow? Or trading the one you have to someone who is going to run a single jet.

The reason I don't get another TB elbow is because I already have this one. It's one of the HKS 2.5" TB elbows that just fits right with my current setup. I guess I can make one if need be, but I'd rather not. Anyway, this throttle body elbow is actually off of the Mirage.

The only way I would be able to get rid of this would be without the fogger, but then that would be pointless to sell the elbow.

Anyone have a decent shape 2.5" throttle body elbow that they would want to get rid of? No 2g elbows either. I already have two laying around.

I see know.

No way to take the elbow over to an exhaust shop and have them weld a small patch over the hole? $5-$10.

Other than sticking a bolt through the hole, which would look very ghetto, I think thats you best bet. For saving the elbow and plugging the hole anyway.
