What times are you guys running at SC?

I'm just curious how fast some of you guys are at second creek. I ask this because I just met a really cool friend of my uncle's and he owns an early viper that is running 1:15 pretty consistantly now; this seems real fast to me. Does anyone know Todd with the black Viper and now a matching SRT-10 that is soon to be blown? He lives up in Conifer and runs at Bandi a lot, (low 11's traped at 147mph on the duel stage spray). This guy is no bullshiter and his cousin's Red Viper holds a dyno record at this local shop at 900+ hp...........considering he has an El Camino with a ferrociously blown 502 crate motor pushing 1600+hp and running 9's, I'd say he's not lying.

I'm just tired of getting weird looks when I say that a properly modified DSM can run with the big fellas, and I was wondering if any of you have been running under the 1:20's.

Quite a few people here are running sub 1:20 lap times. I know of Paul, Erron, Doug and a few others (drawing a blank for names right now)

I'm not one of them. The best I've achieved was a 1:23.7x on what was essentially near-stock suspension (Pro-kit Springs, Nitto 450 225/45/17 tires, 14b, metal mastered brakes, etc).

With smooth driving, and a properly set up car, it's not hard to get near that mark or pass it. It's a blast pushing the car to the limit (even beyond sometimes :D ) on that track. You just have to have a basic knowledge of physics and what effect they have on the car.

I know Todd and his cousin and I did race the red Venom 600 about a year ago and I took him easily off the line of course and held him off till just about 70mph and then he was gone.

Yeah, he stoped calling it a venom when he hit the wall at Bandi a while back going 110+......the whole motor was gone. He then did a stock rebuild and took it from there; now it really is that powerfull, and I know for a fact the black one traped 147 in the quarter and his is less powerfull.

one of our drivers did a 1:09 flat in a Viper Comp Coupe, untested with no real setup, in the Porsche GT-3 cup he did a 1:12
I have a street car NSX customer who does around a 1:15 on street tires, no time on race tires yet
