What up fellow DSMers.
I am JOKER on COSR & CRN.........but for some odd reason it told me JOKER was in use here........ah well.
Anyway, here's my new dsm:
92 Galant VR-4 #526 / 1000
Bought it yesterday. Very clean, runs very strong. Will post pics when I get the chance.
Already started ordering parts for modification:
JE 9:1 pistons
balance shaft removal
can hack with K&N drop in
complete gasket set
all new belts (timing, alt, etc..)
new NGK plugs
new wires
Blitz TT
TurboXS mbc
AutoMeter gauges: boost, EGT, oil pressure
Catco hi-flo cat 3"
Full 3" exhaust
ACT 2600 clutch
lookin for a good FMIC kit for it.
Gonna do the go faster mods down the road. Doing the pistons & clutch while the engine is out for balance shaft removal.

More than likely it was deactivated due to no use for over 2 months.

I can't believe any of these cars are still around if there were only 2000 in the US to start with; I even know of two around boulder I see once and a while that aren't modified. Does the AWD Galant GSX have a N/A 4G63 or some other motor? It seems like someone could releatively easily turn one of those into basically a VR-4 without the AWS, (which most I hear remove anyway).
That's awesome you found one in good condition; have fun with the unique car.:)
Oh, a fuel pump might be a worthwhile, not too expensive item to add to that mod list.

actually their was 3000. 2000 one year and 1000 another. I forget exactly which though...i think 91-92.
The GSX is the VR-4 with the 4g63 nt, but i believe the body panels are slightly different...I say that cause ive read that the front bumper on the VR-4 is unique to the VR-4.

Thanks all.
Dallas J - yes I am the one who is the deputy sheriff in Pueblo. It is going very well. Lots of fun and something different everyday.
Hoffman - love the car and already have plans to build it up. & yes I will be bringing the car out this summer once I have a few things done to it. Here are a few pics of the car after the snow in C/S over the weekend:

Welcome. Stay away from JE pistons unless you like the sound of piston slap. I'm partial to Wiseco's myself do to the fact I've built a FEW motors with them and never ahd problems. Nice car!!

Yep. Have heard the same thing from alot of people that Wiseco pistons are alot better, so that has already been changed.
