There's 4 of us that live and hangout here on a weekly basis. Your more than welcome to drop me a PM and come over with some parts. We'll be in the garage this weekend removing my roommates head (off the car not his body).

There are only 3 place in the springs I would ever take my car. Gheddes for machining, B&W for painting, and Jack for tranny work. Other than that there is nothing so hard on the car that requires paying anyone.

i've read that thread, i've read most of the threads .... i have a "tester" and either i am hooking it up wrong, or my bike pump isn't a good enough pump to test it....maybe i'll go get an air compressor and try it..*sigh*

I have an air compressor, as well as a hand held vacuum/pressure pump. If you want to get together sometime, I'm free on most Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. I also need to do a leak test on mine, maybe it is just the weather though. Last night I was running 13 and this morning I couldn't break past 9. It is rather inconsistent at best. Or, you could head out to one of the weekly get togethers, Safeway (on...Union was it) at 9 on Fridays and/or Grocery Warehouse at 9 on Saturdays on Powers. At least I think that is right, maybe check other posts in this folder.

ya, a bike pump won't do it. you can buy an air tank at wal-mart for $18 that you can fill at a gas station and will hold air for months.

Hello, Crash. You got an email back. I'd be happy to help you with problems that you are not comfortable fixing yourself, but unfortunately I have two engine jobs this week. If you want to stop by later this week, you are more than welcome to use my compressor and see if you find any leaks, but it sounds to me like there is more going on than just a leak. There could be a turbo balance issue or the car may just need a good tune-up. Also, be very careful with that T25 turbo. I have a bunch here that look like this:

http://home.earthlink.net/~garrett_turbos/images/T25.JPG

because people think they can run 15PSI or more out of them.

Yeah I have to agree with Jack. 9psi is pushing the limits of compressor efficiency on a T25 anyway. Try to locate a nice 14b if you don't have much cash. They'll at least push a good 16 efficiently.

**shifty eyes**

**quietly turns down the boost**

uh... yeah... everyone knows that 16 psi is too much

**slowly backs away**

ok, heres one for ya... I put the 1st gen bov in yesterday. I have a mbc and it seems that when i tighten the knob (clockwise) it lowers the boost, and when i loosen it (counter) it raises the boost. but here's one for ya.... at my "old" setting heres what it looks like

1st gear max 12 psi, drops to 10
2nd gear, max to 15 psi, drops to 13
3rd gear plus, max to 19/20 psi, drops to 16

that doesn't seem normal to me,
but, if i tighten the knob it lowers the boost on my gauge, but is it really lowering the boost? (does it leak from the MBC?) cause if my gauge says 12 psi, and my turbo thinks it's running 18, it could be bad.... see these are the things i need help with

jack, I wanna stick a evo big 16g in, can you help out with that? also need fmic, pump, injectors, and all supporting mods... i have plenty of $$ just need someone i trust to do them.

I would not upgrade to an evo16 until you get the car running properly first. All your going to do is cause more problems.

Is the MBC hooked up properly? If it is, and your boost guage is hooked up right, then your 12psi is 12psi. Also assuming you have no leaks.

i had dub euro install boost gauge and mbc,

i did change the mbc to not include a route to the BCS so i have one tube going to the wga, and one to the bov tube... i have yet to check for leaks until i get a compressor/bottle of higher compressed air.

I can take a look at it if you want. I'll be home all afternoon. You still have my # right.

if it is a joe p style (most are), then the vac. line opposite of the adjustment screw should go to a boost source (BOV vac line). the vac line exiting out the side of the controller should go to the Wastegate actuator. the BCS and all associated vac. lines and tee's should just be coiled up and zip tied out of the way. also the t-25 has a boost source on the compressor housing that should be pluged if you are not using it.

Yes, I would be more than happy to help you, but Mr. Hoffman is right. You need to get everything else fixed first, which I would be happy to help with too. My number is (719) 392-7122

Also, the problems you are having with the MBC is common. I personally don't like MBC's, and can make a more reliable system. If you want to learn more, PM me so we won't go off topic here. Thanks
