k soo i got some advice from a chrisvr4(thanks for the info!) to get chipped from www.dsmchips.com and my questions are

how hard is the install/does it need to be done profesionally, or is it something i can do my self

does it matter for the launching option that i have fwd/launching rpm 4000 i donno if that will do it?

and last but not least are there anyother places for these chips i mean the price sounds fair but it never hurts to shop around\

The chips that you can get now are a great idea, but it is a chip.

Which means it can't be adjusted as your setup and needs change.

They aren't hard to install, assuming you have an eprom ecu and can find someone to socket it for you.

It I were you, I would just save my pennies and purchase a DSMLink. It will be cheaper in the long run.

While I think Hal is right that Link may be cheaper in the long run, there is no hard data as to it's current availability for 1g. I know you say it's coming but I'll believe it when I see it. No offense Hal, that's what a couple years in this games gets me. Plus I"m happy making adjustments to the chip but most don't have that capability and I"m not really wanting to do it publicly for several reasons.

As far as cheaper, there isn't anywhere to get it cheaper right now that I trust. I"m not sure about FWD launching RPM. I"ll have to refer to others. If you get your eeprom ECU socketed (which you'll need for LINK as well) it's a piece of cake to install.

Marni and I are leaving to visit my family on friday. When I get back I'll come by and I'll see how the 1g link works. I've heard some very very interesting 1g ECU rumors lately that you'll laugh you ass off over Hal. All very very impressive stuff.

thanks for the replies i think im going to go chip since there is no 1g dsm link/ as soon as that comes out ill just need to upgrade(its my daily so i dont want stand alone) all im really concerned with is this launching option and the "no lift shift" through gears i donno how they work.......just wanna say thanks
