Ok so this may sound dumb.. or it may sound intellegent who knows...

K so the question is.

So you have your dsm tuned with a 16g at 23-25 psi ya know race gas/ fuel system/ fully built motor/ side mount i/c / clutch/ all the goodies... it has the whole nine yards... So it's tuned with the motor and the 16g...

Then you add on your 125 shot "direct port".. what besides retarding the timing would "need" to be changed in the way of tuning...

Would it need an entirely different tune.. or would it work with just more "hp"??

Just something i wanted to clear up for my own personal knowledge..

DSMMOTORSPORT has gone mid 11's with a 14b and a 150shot with there race talon, i was just wondering what kind of changes would need to be made for running that kind of shot with that kind of turbo..

Thanks

Well first you need a fuel pump that can keep up with the injectors.

Once you have a good system in place you can tune the car W/O the n2o for max power. Once you have done that the car should be around 12:1 afr and the timing should be around 22-23 degrees. Back the timing off to 18 degrees and that will richen you up to 11-11.5:1 afr. After that is done you should be good for a 25 - 50 shot.

Watch the wideband carefully. If the car starts to go lean you need to richen it up with either an afc or whatever fuel tuning device you have.

Also run some colder plugs to keep the car in the safe zone.

For a direct port 100+++ shot, a whole new set of values
needs to be determined.

Listen to Dave.

Be willing to break alot of parts!

Yeah well im not looking to do a setup like this on my car but i wanted to know what changes u have to make from like "all motor/turbo" to "nitrous"??

So the basic gauges nessasary for this would be a fuel press, boost, wideband?? correct?

for example the setup is like a 16g, 660cc injectors, warboro 255 lph pump, je pistons, eagle rods, stainless steal valves, balenced bottom end, stock side mount, hard lower and upper pipes, stock 1g bov, maybe a dsmlink if not then prolly an afc and oh yeah this is all with a 2g mass air, then a nitrous kit of some sort.

I know its bad to have the stock side mount but, it'll be more "sleeper" oreinted sp??

full interior/ 4 bolt rear/ act clutch/ and some form of "race" or built tranny... with a 4 spider diff.

This is for a friend of a friend whos brother is building a street car, and i talked him into an eclipse, and i might help a little bit..

Thanks
MARK

So tuning on motor / turbo.... use 7es?? or 6es?? the nitrous run 8 es ???

obviously ngk plugs.. or has that changed too?

would that be a good setup for a 16g plus a lotta nitrous??

If not what would you all change??

all you are doing with N20 is increasing chamber pressures

with more chamber pressures you get more HP.\

now.. you have to build the motor to meet and hopefully exceed the expected chamber pressures that youa re expecting with the added N2O.

turbos do this by adding more air. N2O is the same thing. you are adding more air to burn more fuel. and thus increasing your chamber pressures to exceed its current pressure and thus creating more HP.

build your motor first..

then add more pressure.
