hey guys i just got all my logging stuff set up and took the car out for a run. this is my log sheet. can you make heads or tails of it. im worried about the middle where i have like 30 knock counts at 4500 rpm. all my fuel trims just stay at 139%. heres the log if you would take the time to view. thank you soo much. matt

well... you log isnt showing for one
and if you are at 139% on all trims then you need to richen up accross the board on the low settings on the afc (if you have a afc)
I bet your lower honeycomb is removed and the screw is backed out? if so put them back in, that alone will richen things back up a bit.

soo what should the fuel trims normally be at. 139% is too lean. ya i have a hks afr which came with the car. i really dont like it or know how to work it and need to invest in a safc. it seems weird that im running lean maybe the afr isnt set right i do have upgraded injectors and pump on 16g turbo. my egts go to 1600 at WOT. what do these signs mean. thanks guys.

It sounds like it is running too lean. Try richening it up a bit with your afr and see if your egt's go down. Have you checked your fuel pressure for 43psi at idle?

i just took the afr out tonight. now it has crazy idle issues. goes from 1500 to 2000 rpm all the time. i am going to purchase a dsmchips.com chip until i get a safc. i have a stock fpr still. im guessing that now since i have no afr the car is running really rich? the exact opposite of before? thanks. guys. matt

what do you think. should i get the bolt on adjustable FPR or S-AFC after my chip? which should i buy first . thanks

those chips run you like 100 shipped why not just save up a little more and buy a afc now? one just was sold on this board for 150.... chips are awsome tools in my opinion, but every car reads differntly soo i mean that the chip by it self wont cure all of your woes....... i would get the afc, if there were technology for dsmr's to program our own chips i would go for chips....since we cant i will go with a piggy back system on my 16g..:p

ya i agree with you, when i say after the chip i mean like less than a week after the chip. lol. sorry. ok anyways i do think keydriver will help me out quite a bit and make tuning easier as well plus it has some nice other features like launch rpm. but i think that i will get a Safc within a week or soo as well and get both in at the same time really soon. the FPR can come later. i guess i shouldnt have taken the super afr out just yet, but i just didnt like that thing. now i have to deal with major idle problems for a week or so. thanks guys.

is that what you use? ya i really dont remember the wire order now. too bad i guess i would like that instead of having to go out and buy a Safc. just couldnt figure out how to work the dang thing properly. basically only got idle set ok. on it. but i just didnt like the hks afr version want to try apexi safc this time. seems nicer

I used it until I bought DSMlink. The S-AFR has the same level of functionality of the S-AFC, but its easier to use. If you had a problem with the S-AFR youre going to have a fun time with the S-AFC.
I have for sale if youre interested. 150$ with Harness. I also have an HKS EVC for sale too, as well as a blitz turbo timer and power meter. Lemme know if youre interested.

ok tonight i went out and adjusted the biss screw. that helped out it now idles. better. it surges and drops from 500 to around 780 rpm so it still doesnt stay consistent at the 750 range. not sure what thats all about. i then logged at idle and my fuel trims are all at 100% and the isc says 22.6% not sure on that. also egrt says -18 degrees. the MAFS says 0.0hz and one im really wondering about is my TPS which says 10.1% does this seem normal at idle not touching pedal? any help on these numbers is really appreciated. thanks. matt

so do you think i should just hook the super AFR back up and not get a Safc instead?

You should set your ICS to 30 for what ever RPM is your idle rpm. For instance if you have like a TMO or Keydiver chip and have your idle upped to 900 then at 900rpms your ICS should be at 30. If stock, then 750 should be 30.

Absolutely. If you want to upgrade, get either DSMlink or EMS. Getting another piggyback controller at this point isnt going to help you. I'd be more than happy to help you tune.
Make sure your Throttle Body isnt leaking - that tends to cause bad idle.

ok i gotta be honest. i really have no idea how to set my isc to 30. can you help with this. also thanks XakEp for offering to help. after i get it hooked up right again do you think i could ask for your help and how is the best way to come about asking you. thanks guys. ill also check to see if TB is possibly leaking. i do hear a wierd air evacuating type noise could be that. thanks soo much guys. matt

You should adjust your TPS until it reads at 0-1% at idle. Loosen the screws and turn it one direction or the other slightly while you are logging it and then set it at that point. If you are hearing air evacuating you most likely have an air/vacuum leak somewhere. Try narrowing it down and I'll bet you'll solve your idleing issues.

hey about the TPS reading 1g's are alot different. They like to be around 9.7%. So if your car is a 1g that's what it should be about but if it's a 2g then it'll wanna be set to 0%.....
