Hey all I have been registered here for a while just never had a reason to post. I am actually a CSM (Colt, Summit, Mirage) owner but am about to buy a GSX/TSi AWD from a guy who shops at the safeway I work at. He says his first gear is gone, the sunroof is busted out and the clutch may be going. The cool thing is he is going to sell it to me for $500. I figure with all the neccessary parts and labor, it would amount to about $3000 for the complete car. Is this correct? Any helpful replies would be great.

A complete tranny rebuild is about $1k. But just to get a few gears and syncros, take a few hundred off.

Broken sunroof, the glass or the latches? I'm assuming this is a 1g based on the low selling price. Check the junkyards.

A clutch is only about $300.

Your looking at only around $2k tops to fix those things.

If you have the money get the trans upgraded.

Thanks for the replys. I really don't have the money to get the tranny upgraded, I just want to get the car in good running order and have all my gears. Hoffman, is $2k with labor or is that to do it myself? I don't have a garage so I need to get someone else to do it.

If it's in the springs get Jack to do it. He can do the trans for you also, and might be able to hook you up with some upgrades here and there to fix some of the stock issues.

I don't know Jack (no pun intended). Does he post on here? If so, what's his SN? I plan on buying the car within the next week but I just talked to my parents and I found that might actually just look for a good-running one. All I really want is one that is T-AWD and that is stock. If you guys know of any for sale in the area please let me in. Oh and I want 1g also.

I knew all AWD's were T, I guess I could have just said AWD. And thanks for his SN.
