Very nice, Erron!!
Is it just me, or do your rear wheels/tires look to be significantly larger than the front? You are still AWD, aren't you? ;)

It's possible to run different size tires with awds :)

Well yes, but that doesn't mean the VCU likes it ;)
Also the size differnce looks to be pretty large, but maybe I'm crazy

They're the same size I believe. And you can run different size and the VLSD wouldn't mind it at all, You just have to make sure they spin at the same speed.

And where's my video? :p
I pulled up the SCCA time trial rules. I need to get a few things for myself and the car (safety wise) before I can run SM class.
But man! It sure as hell looks more fun than the whopping 48seconds of pleasure you get from 4 passes at Bandi. :)

Hahahaha! Sorry bro, I still haven't even captured my incar video yet. I will at some point, just got to find the time.
Yeah, 45 minutes on the track is waaaay better in my book. As you know, you'll learn more in 45 minutes on a road course than a year at bandi. :-P

If the overall diameter is different they will spin at different speeds unless you have some custom gearing. The rears looked to be significantly larger than the front, but apparently I was just hallucinating :p
By the way, I really like this picture:

Do you have a higher res version (ideally sans the overlayed text)?

Yes, that is my point :) You need to match rim size, tire width and aspect ratio to get them correct. Do a little math, you'll find out it's possible, but hard to locate everything in the exact size you'll need it.

The overall diameter of the tire looks larger to me for some reason, not just the rim. I know it's possible to have larger rims with the same tire diameter, but the tires look larger.
But either way, I'm obviously just imagining it :)

I think you missed my point... I meant by matching the width of the tire for a wider tire in rear versus it's aspect ratio (profile) and rim size you can get the same rotational speed.

I mean they look larger in overall diameter (as well as width, but that's not what i'm talking about), i.e. they would spin at a different speed. Changing the aspect ratio changes the profile, allowing larger rims while maintaining the same rolling diameter. My point is the tires look to have a larger rolling diameter, which would result in different rotational speeds.
But as Erron said, they are the same size and I'm just crazy. :)
In hindsight, we should stop stealing Erron's moment of glory ;)

That's alright, i've had a few this year. :-P
We do need to get more racers out there next year. We are putting together a intro program if you guys are interested. Basically, a flagging and communications class, with safty procedures, on and off track rules for competitors and corner workers. I'll keep you guys up to speed if you're interested?

Hell yeah, if you need help lemme know. It's kinda sad that SCR is shutting down in a few weeks :(

Actually, Gary is working out all the details for us. We are going to get the "un-scared" people there. :-D He's the Chief Steward for SCCA TT events. We are just looking for a way to get more people interested without the pressure to perform. Basically, an into to road racing and time trials.
We'll actually know the final outcome in December. We are looking at Mead, PMI, PPIR, La Junta, and possibly Aspen for next years events. (regional's anyway) So there is no excuses for a lack of tracks, we got lots of places to race!

The more the merrier. This last weekend only had,.....45(?) cars?
As things progress, I will post it on here under the road racing forum.
Thanks Craig!!

I don't pay any attention to points. Not yet anyway. I just go to have fun and knock around some cars. Hal, if you came out to do club racing, they would put you in ITE. Improved Touring- EVERYTHING!! hahaha
Basically, mod whatever you want, just no gender changes. ie. a chevy 350 in a mazda 510. In the Solo Trials, you would be in SM with me. A street car that has been modded, bigtime. Now that I think about it, every dsm I know would be in SM. Or, in OSP. (lots of mods, just no cage) Either way, worse case would be SM. The new format is awesome. You get 45 minutes to click off 1 hot lap. The best lap is your time they keep. What a blast!!
