I might show up, but I don't have my car... Anyone between Ft. Collins and Denver looking for a passenger?

Yeah, It was nice meeting you and your gf Mark. I had a good time regardless of the turnout. Maybe some GTG's will get going next year? Can't say we didn't try.

Yeah, we had a good time too! I forgot to get the camera out and take pics while we were there :(
Is somebody gonna plan another meet before the weather turns?

Yeah, sorry guys. I was trying to install my system all day yesterday, came to the conclusion that my Deck is fucked or has a bad ground, for it only is putting out 3 volts to the Remote turn on wire :(
I was so frustrated, I didn't want to leave until it was done, but my volt-meter tells me it is my deck.

Where you located? I could give you a hand if you need.. I've done quite a few stereos.

I'm in Boulder.
I too, have installed a few subs in various cars. That's what pisses me off, everything about my subs and amp are perfect. It is the deck that is screwing me over. The amp turned on for a minute then sut off when I first installed it; I checked the voltage at the deck and at the amp and both read 3.04 Volts! It should be the voltage of the battery. This is why I thought it might be a bad ground on the deck. Another thing that backs up the grounding theory is that the other wire for a power antenna (when the radio is on) only puts out 3.04 volts as well.
What color generally are grounding wires on CD Decks?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, for it is really frustrating getting stuck for the first time on my own car!
Thanks again,
-Kelton

Where are you checking for voltage? The RCA outputs are always a lower voltage like that (2.5-5 volts depending on deck). Did you run your power antenna wire to the amp as a remote turn on? I'm not sure what the power antenna wire should read voltage wise, all I know is it sends a signal to tell it to power up. If the remote turn on needs to be 12v, you could tap into any switched wire behind the dash. That would be the easiest solution, since you probably listen to your radio 99% of the time the car is on :)
The ground is usually the thicker black wire in the harness going from the deck to the stock wiring.
Now just to make sure you wired it up right, you did buy an amp wiring kit that is run to the battery with at least 8 gauge wire, right? You should also have at least an 8 gauge ground wire. If you can explain your problems in a little more detail I can help you more. Let me know.
