Kinda funny.... apparently some people, who won't be named, think that you can't road race a high horsepower car. This is very interesting. And I suppose since the majority of them wouldn't know how to mod a DSM for reliability then I can see where they are coming from. But I would like to clear the air on some misconceptions before they get too smug :)

First, it's not 500hp car. I have since UPGRADED turbos and will be dyno'd before I bring it out to SCR. Secondly, I boost on the car DAILY. And not 10psi. I've hit 37PSI a few times and daily boost to 27 which is where I've got the BC set right now.... ON PUMP GAS. Third I have more into mods to keep my setup running strong than most of them have in their car. I purchased things like Trans coolers, diff coolers, Ti Rods, etc...etc...etc.... ETC... so that it isn't just a damn "drive it 1/4 mile shut it off" car.

I will be running on stock brakes and stock suspension while out there. It's to prove a point to a few people.

And in case you still can't see the light, Erron Spalsbury has personally told me he knows at least one person who is going with a "500hp" FP3065 like I was running for ROAD RACE. And I've still yet to hear him laugh about it.

And this isn't a "drag tuning session" this is for fun. I invited a few people out to watch her go because I'd like to give rides and have guys who I think are pretty damn cool and that I respect check out the car and give input. Personally I think that if you think it's funny you should maybe shut your yap.

I'd like to. The problem is that you give someone an area that they think they can say whatever they'd like without it ever getting out and they will. Hell I'm guilty of it myself. C'est la vie, non?

Id love to ride in a 500hp car on a road track.... that would be one hell of a rush.

Come out saturday. If the brakes don't fade too much (yeah right, I'm running stock out there) then I will try to strap you in :)

If I see no issues at the dyno I will be leaving there to go to SCR. Should be about noonish.

Noonish?? No! Come out earlier. I'll be there at about 8am. You want to get there early, trust me. You don't want to pit in the dirt. Do the dyno some other day, cause I can only stay till about 1 anyway.

Yep, his name is Doug Hayne. He will be at SC on Sunday. Look for the guy in the gold 1g with a 2.4. Very cool guy and an exceptional driver. (also a close personal friend)

Wish I could Erron but I made a promise I can't break. I will be tuning someones car at MAC's that needs a hand. I'll only be on the rollers long enough to make a few changes to my setup. I will be heading there as fast as possible afterwards. The dyno session starts at 10. I will be off the rollers at 10:30 and I should be done with Scots car at about 11:30 at the latest I hope. Which puts me at SCR around noon :(

Jake,
I'll try to make sure I can stay a little later, I thought you were going to be out there in the morning. Yeah, you can't say anything in public and assume it won't get out :-). Seriously, I think everyone is looking forward to having some fun. I still want to see if you can run a faster lap than me on your winter setup :-). I'm getting excited about being there...I guess I'll go ahead and pony up the $60 ($65...whatever it is). I want to see how well you're able to make a big turbo work...to me it seems like you're going to be overturboed, at least at Spectator Hook. But hey, I proved to myself last year that horsepower can make up for a lot of other issues.

LoL, I'm looking forward to seein ya Carl. I think I am over turbo'd for this course. I really didn't build the car for such a small course, but I do have a few other goodies in my bag that should even it out a little. Really wish I could run it, then swap in the brakes/suspension and run it to see the difference but right now I have a broken suspension piece :(

when are you getting full boost on that setup? does it really matter for road course duty? i know that it would for auto X, but i'm not sure on a road course how low the revs get.....my brakes and new turbo showed up yesterday, all i need is some suspension and better tires so i can turn as fast as i'm going to be able go straight/stop....i'm looking forward to my first road course action next year.
is it worth driving down to watch tomarrow? can you see much?
