How do you break loose the 02 sensors? -both in the 02 housing and after the -soon to be removed- cat?
I cant seem to break them loose for the life of me!

Is it ok to use the smokey wrench on these or will it ruin them?

I always use an O2 socket to pull mine out.

ahhhh, I like the sound of that. dont think I got one, though... in fact, don't think I ever seen one
a 7/8" open end fits but (I feel) would slip if I reefed on it any harder, if I had a crows foot that big, I'd give her hell, but uh... I'm stuck here (and I'm out of acetylene to boot! ) any advice?

how would you feel about heating it up over a turkey fryer burner? I mean as long as I dont burn the wires

Oh, the o2 housing is out and sitting on the kitchen table... I figure if I can get that one out tonight, i'll be in good shape, cause my transportation-less ass can port til my heart's content. maybee even split it in prep for an atmospheric dump!

Try a flare nut wrench, a squirt of PB and a deadblow or rubber hammer.

Hope this helps.

Just get a 7/8" or 24mm wrench and get a ball peen or claw hammer to smack the wrench with. Lube never hurts either. PB blaster seems to work the best out of everything I've tried.

Sharper blows seem to break fasteners loose easier. Dead blows only bounce and absorb the impact too much.

PB works great, i have to use it alot because my car came from Chicago where everything likes to rust. Marcus's has the right idea, but don't put it over the burnner because extream heat can kill the sensor, they use a regulated voltage to make sure they stay at a certian temp.

A cresent wrench and hammer has always done it for me. It might be ghetto, but it gets the job done and Ive never damaged anything doing it this way.

Better ways though would be to get a o2 socket and breaker bar like others have mentioned, or a box end wrench and hammer.

I prefer the big fucking pipe over the wrench method...nothing like a 3' breaker bar!

I had to get 2 3ft breaker bars to get the cam bolts broken loose.

If youre having a hard time with just the o2 sensor, dont ever try the cam bolts. Those things were tighter than head studs.

o2 sockets are like 7 bucks at checkers it's worth it though.
