Maybe this is located somewhere and I just haven't found it yet, even after much searching. I'm thinking it might be a nice idea to have an area where we can all warn one another of the various speed traps set up by police officers/highway.

Has this been tried or suggested in the past?

I don't condone or encourage speeding, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one here that doesn't obey the speed limit 100% of the time.

Any thoughts on this idea?

I know I've got several locations I'd warn everyone about if there were such an area on this site.

If we start posting speed traps, or possible speed traps, it could put a warning light on our little forum.

I have nothing against the police, they are only doing their job. I just don't think it would be a good idea to have to worry if they are scanning our site.

The only way to make something like that effective would be to put it in a private forum. Then you have to have people vouch for you to get in. Then people get their feelings hurt because they can't view parts of the forum.

Seems like kind of a hassle for something that is always moving. Speed traps aren't permenant.

Makes sense to me. It does sound like an awfully big hassle, not to mention any possible negative consequences the site might possibly face for posting such content since it's a public forum area.

I have nothing against police either, my father was a Lakewood Police Officer for 24-years and is now a JeffCo Sheriff's Deputy.

Just figured I'd toss the idea out there!

Get a Scanner, a Dector and a Diffuser and hope for some luck.

I've already got a Valentine One, plus a "jammer" (diffuser) that doesn't really work. I've heard and read that you more or less need to have a fairly expensive sort of set-up on your car (basically covering all four of the front corners, in essence, "framing" your car) before it really has any serious effect on radar. The ones that hang in your windshield don't really seem to work, at least not the one I have.
