So I went over to SC today to drive the car for the last time before I head out to school.

Let me tell you, turning laps beats a day at Bandi, any day.

It was pretty overcast so the course was slick. That and there was a lot of cars there today.

So I check in, go over the car real quick, and strap in for some runs in the fast group. Man was it fast too! I had no problems pulling on cars coming out of turns and down the straights. But if you think the so called "performance" tire you drive on is any good in the twists you are sorely mistaken. You had better come with some Hoosiers to hang in this bunch.

Some jerk in an STi was all up on my bumper for the laps i took with this group. I'd enter the turn too hot, kick the rear out near the apex, dive for the inside line and go for it. His ass would be right on my ass until I could get back on it. So being a nice guy I waved him past. Then ofcourse the rest of the time was slowing down in the straights so as not to hit him, then watch him pull me in the corner, then come right back on to him again.

Damn I need some new R Compounds.

After that session I BSed with Paul for a while.

I decided to take a run with the slow group since the Khumos weren't up for handleing real speeds. Jesus Christ! It was like dodging traffic on I25. This shit was way to slow. There was quite a few times I had to shift into first to take some turns.

Well coming into the "house turn" I noticed my brakes felt spoungy. I got of the track quick, pulled back into the pits and find the retaining clip on the SS line had slid up. The result was the line came in contact with the rotor and burned a hole through it. Brake fluid was running down the hot rotors and smoking something aweful.

I said I was going to break the car this time. I ended up breaking the brakes.

I put in an emergency phone call to TCE, so new lines should be here before friday to get back out there.

I did manage to jerry rig it until I could get to Hal's to jerry rig it some more. But the car did make it home and new lines are in the mail.

Keep your eye out for a red 95 GSX. That will be his goofy ass. (I believe the bottom color is silver).
