I am thinking about running nitrous this year but have a couple questions that those of you running it can help me with I hope. I will be controlling it with DSMLink and my car setup is listed below. I have done some reading and am more confused than before so be patient please.
1. What "kit" do you recommend and why?
2. I want to run as large of a shot as possible without being stupid, again, what do you recommend?
3. What misc. items might I need to budget in?
4. What do I need to keep in mind when installing/running nitrous to pass NHRA tech.
Car: 1997 GSX, E16g, FMIC, supporting crap, stock from TB to exh. mani, DSMLink/injectors soon.
I am looking for the most simple AND cost effective way of doing this so please keep that in mind....I know, I know the two usually don't go together but just thought I'd throw that in there.
Thanks!

On a stock 7 bolt bottom end I wouldn't recommend using nitrous.
However if you do want to pursue it here is some info.
If you want a single fogger you can pick up a nitrous express kit. If you go with NX there are quite a few more addons you can do w/o having to worry about will another brand work with an NX controller. Stuff like that.
The size of the shot depends on how crazy you want to go. Do you want just a little more cooling charge or do you want another 100hp?
Since you will be going with dsmlink you pretty much have everything right there. You should however get a bottle heater since it won't come with the kit. Also a bottle pressure gauge, purge kit.
To pass NHRA tech you must have a blowdown tube coming off the bottle. As long as you have that and the bottle is securely mounted your golden.
If you havn't upgraded the fuel system you should consider doing that before you do the nitrous install.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I'll go with a NX "stage 1" and get the gen X kit. That should include everything you have mentioned. As far as fuel goes, I am still running the 190 pump but sold the 560's. I think I'm going to run something along the lines of 720's to 850's to keep the bases covered. I'm going to get some baseline numbers with the new turbo and then I am going to start with a 50 shot and work my way up. If I keep detonation at bay I'm hoping the bottom end will hang in there.

Yeah your going to need something larger than a 190 pump.

You don't think the 190 with 750's would be enough?

Definitely not, I ran one for a little while with 660's, 20psi, BT28. I believe that the 190 was being over ran, caused some problems when tuning, so I through in the 255, and so far so good.
