I was just wondering what your opinions are on who makes the best custom exhaust for a 1g awd. Im looking for quality at a decent price. Is there someone around Brighton/Boulder/Longmont/Denver...etc.? Thanks in advance.

Might talk to exhaust pros, I dont know if they have a mandrel bender or not, Make sure you get mandrel bent..

Is the mandrel really gonna make that much of a difference vs the press bent, if my goal is to only make say a 12 second 1/4?

Well the first bend is pretty tight, I run an o2 elmination downpipe, so my DP bolts right to the turbo, with no seperate o2 housing. If your goin to do it, you might as well do it right especially when its not that much more. If I was you, I would get a premade downpipe and have the rest done custom, the bends arent that big of deal all the way back at the axle..
EDIT: Sorry, heads jumping all around. With my setup a mandrel bent section right off the turbo is very important, a press bent cant do it right, because the bends are so tight and close together.

A press bent 3" exhaust is good enough for 12's. But mandrel is better for the long run.

Buds muffler in Denver is good. Just bring your own muffler and highflow cat if you want the best deal. They used to give deals to codsm members, probably still do.

Buds Muffler has my vote as well. I like straight pipes, no muffler. They give discounts for paying cash and RMDSM & CODSM. They wanted $450 with no muffler when I called. I found a better deal for a friend. They did good on my test pipe and EGT probe fix. Great customer service.
Another really reputible shop is Lakewood Muffler. They will do what ever you ask. Seen plenty of Hondas come out of there. They actually looked really good. Some of those guys had generic mufflers, so sound quality was down. But, workmanship was top notch.

If you're going 3" all the way, you must be interested in maximizing power, at least down the road.
If this is the case, and you are in fact going 3", I'd go mandrel-bent. That's what I'm planning on doing once I've got the car.
Remember, the better the turbo breathes - both on the intake and exhaust side - the more efficient and more powerful it will be.

Alright, cool. I'm probably gonna hit up Bud's, cuz I've heard the most good things about them. Gonna have to go with the mandrel lol. Hmm...do you suppose they give double discounts if I'm a member of RMDSM and CODSM? (which i already am btw). LoL...just messin' about that though. Thanks for the insight everyone.

Dont forget that Jack also does exhausts... although he is swamped with work, and kinda hard to get a hold of. He does do good work though.
