The wheels I really want are available in an offset of +35 which is not +38 (stock 2g wheel offset...I hope). Since the wheels are everything I ever wanted in a rolling accessory I have little to no quams with buying them anyways and having a machine shop cut out a 3mm thick 5x114.3 bolt pattern spacer plate. But, time and time again I have had good experiences asking for advice here. So please offer your input as you see fit.

No spacer is going to get you from a +35 to a +38. How wide are they and what tires are you going to run? If anything, you might have clearance issues on the fender side. Probably no worries, though.

Am I thinking the wrong direction? Man that would be embarassing... anyways the wheels are 9.5" wide. Crazy I know, but thats what I want and I'll do it even if I have to refab the suspention mounts. Since its only 3mm I am not all that worried about any loss of steering feel or accelerated tire wear, but if I could get it where I need to be that would be great too.
Now I have to go find out if I am confused over the +/- directions of offset. I would have thought a spacer and longer wheel studs would fix the problem.

Yeah, you are thinking the wrong way. A positive offset is more backspacing. I +35 with a 3mm spacer would be +32, not +38. However, with a wheel that wide you'll wan't an offset much lower than +32 even.

You probably want to be in the +10 to +15 range. What tire are you gonna run?
