I've been debating about what to do with my car for a few months now. I'm about at the limit of what I can do with the engine, so I'm shifting my focus to improving the cornering.

I'm sure some of you have bought or searched for aftermarket rims in the past. So maybe you guys can help me out with some of the sources you have found that I have not yet.

I'm looking for a 17x9, 25mm offset. I plan to run 255/40/17.

I have currently set the limit at $250 a rim, but I'm willing to go slightly higher if need be to get what I want.

Right now I have found a good deal on some 5zigen FN-01R-C's. They only weigh 17lbs which isn't too bad. Kosei K1's are a pain to find now, especially in the size I want.

So let me hear some suggestions.

Well the secrets out I suppose, the 5Ziegen wheels are what I was shooting for myself, but I suppose I was (foolishly) going to go with the stock offset of +38 (which unavailable, so the +35 is it). Is the +25 what you would want for such an increase in wheel width to keep a good grasp on steering feel?

I run the FN01R-C's. The mustang cobra R wheels I think would fit, doubtful you would go with those but thought I would throw it out there. Theres not to much avaliable in a 17x9 for less then $250 a wheel.

But shit, for half the price of SSR Comp's that aren't as wide, the 5Zigen's are the heat.

Motegi just came out with some new 17" rims, i dont know the exact size but they are only 14 pounds. And i have no idea how much they are.

I could run a +35mm and barerly clear the rear kingpin arm with a 255/40/17. A +25 offset give me a little more breathing room and gives me the option to run upto a 265/35/17.

Remember this is for a road race (sometimes autox) car. Grip is everything. I have the power, I have the brakes, I have the suspension, I have been lacking in grip. So now that's my goal.

The 5zigen's have a +15mm offset. I would have no issues running the 265s then. I would have to roll the fenders, but this isn't a show car anyway.

Here's the deal I found. http://store.racinglab.com/5zfnrawh1712.html

I don't think it will get any better than that. If I don't find anything better by the end of the week. I guess these will do.

The Motegi Touge do come in a 17x9, 24mm offset for $200/ea, but they weigh 24lbs. A little too heavy.

I actually got mine for less then that, but they were on closeout.
