Hey guys, I just began building my true mandrel bent 3" turboback exhaust. Ive got the downpipe and cat setup done and Im now looking into mufflers. Im going for the sleeper look so I want a stock appearing muffler. Im looking at a magnaflow 3" inlet and dual 2-1/4 outlets with the 18" long body. Has anyone here used this or currently using a magna flow? How does it sound? I want a quiet system. Any suggestions? I want to weld the little trim rings off my stock muffler onto the new one. Are the stock exits 2" or 2-1/4? Any help would be appreciated.

I know it's ghetto and doesn't have the stock looking dual tips, but you could use a 3" muffler meant to be used mid stream in big V8 systems. I have a Magnaflow oval 3" inlet, and 3" outlet, no big tip. The muffler is pretty restrictive I'm sure compared to the straight through designes, but boy is it quiet. I love it because I can be very incognito driving around town, and then at full boost when the atmos. dump opens the difference in noise level is incredible.
I figure the supercharged V8 guys need a very quiet muffler set-up to make their cars streetable, that's why I went with the system I did.
Sorry, I have no actual experience with the muffler you are talking about, I just wanted to make a suggestion.

I ran a 3" custom system with one magnaflow muffler in it for about a year. Even with the stock cat and DP it was really loud and resonated a lot on deceleration. I ended up switching to a 3" RS*R with a RRE DP and no cat. The RS*R is quieter with no cat and a 3" DP than the magnaflow was with stock DP and cat. I would weld in an additional resonator with the magnaflow system if you are looking for it to be a little more livable. The loudness isn't what got me with the magnaflow, it was the insane resonance on decel. that did. I think that a resonator in place of the cat would have done the trick though.

I have a custom 3" mandrel turbo back with a 3" Magnaflow muffler, It works great; not to loud at all.

I've heard many of the 3" are hard to get without having had the crap bent out of them, and that really you might as well go with a 2.5", anyone else have experience with this?

I have a very nice stock-looking setup on my 1G. I run the Dynomax Ultraflow muffler but what really does it is the RRE twin tip. I can send you some pics if you want. The muffler is pretty loud it is straight through. If you want a straight through muffler it will be loud anyway, otherwise get something like the Dynomax superturbo muffler with the same tip.

i had a 3" turbo back exhast on my 91 with a 3" magnaflow muffler and that thing was extremely loud, deffinatly caught attention with the sound, the only downside is with the 3" visible to the world every stoplight someone is trying to race you, especially riced out hondas driven by punk kids.
