Hey everyone, I am somewhat new to the amazing world of dsm's. Last year I bought a 92 talontsiawdturbo with some mods done to it and lowered a little bit with adjustable shocks. I seem to have worn those shocks out and i am needing some new ones. I am looking at the KYB AGX's adjustable shocks and also the Koni Yellow sport shocks. I have researched a little on both and the yellows do seem to be better but are deff. more expensive. So, I wanted your opinions if possible on both of them and which i should get? Also, I am going to change them myself so if you have any suggestions to that as well let me know. Thanks everyone and anyone.

Well, I have a different bodystyle and weight all together but I can tell you that my AGXs run "smooth" lowered with an finger and a half of gap. Koni's, from what I understand, are better than the KYBs but I figured I'd let you know that AGXs are just fine for the money. What kind of ride quality are you looking for? I don't think that a standard 1.3"-1.7" drop will affect ride quality even if you go with a lower quality shock (AGX)...lower quality in referrence to the Koni's that is. You will feel the difference if your vehicle is slammed though. My .$02 AGX pennies there.

I have AGX on the rear. They are pretty stiff after number 2 setting. I'd say they are a good replacement/slight upgrade for stock shocks.

Thanks you guys for the help, I really appreciate it. I think I might go ahead and just get the KYB AGX's for now cause i dont need the highest quality shock...well for now. Thanks again.

If you are planning on a daily driver with a blue moon trip to the track, AGXs will work fine for your needs.
If you plan to race the crap out of it, Koni is the only off the shelf shock to run.
Replacing them is easy. 2 to 3 bolts up top, 2 to 3 at the bottom. I will suggest going to NAPA or Autozone to rent a spring compressor to make taking the springs and upper hats on/off easier.

The cheapest I remember seeing them a little while back when I was looking for shocks was at Diamond Star Specialties for $394.12 for four of them.
I've never ordered from them before, so I don't know how great their service is? Someone else might be able to chime in on that note.
Here's the link to that page with the shocks listed:

AGX's (rears) are also much easier to adjust than the konis if my memory serves me right. I'd say go with the AGX's and Eibach Pro Kit springs.
