Ive been trying to find this sensor in the manuel... but I have yet to find it. Does anyone know which sensor this is? The Symptom: When you first start the car the idle goes up... jumping to 1500 to 2000. Once the car warms up it stops...
Probably just go to the junker to find it.
Thanks

That's your TPS(Throttle Position Sensor).

Is this what the picture is? (It's very large and hard to see)

Sounds like the problem is "idle surge" and it's pretty common. There are a few different things it could be, and TPS is definitely one of them. You can measure your TPS to see if it's bad here:

Also, if it's not your TPS, you can find more info here:

TPS is on the other side of the throttle cable.

That's your throttle stop/some 1g crap.

FIAV raises your idle when it's cold started.

When I rebuilt my throttle body, as per the VFAQ, it kept referring to that as the TPS.

I suppose I wouldn't know exactly if it is or not, just following the VFAQ.

Hal probably knows best. ;)

That is your idle switch. It does follow the tps harness back to the main harness. So both pieces are related to the throttle position.
