I was linked to 9 second racing when I was looking for injectors . the last time my younger brother called them they had no idea you could swap 1g motor into 2g . so i'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with them and how it went i.e. dsm knowledge and how reputable they were?

I've never dealt with them, but then again I don't do business with "shops" that use photo's from other peoples catalogs without permission.

I great dsm'er by the name of Kenny has recently started working for 9 second. He is awesome. He did my clutch for me, has a very fast and consistant 1g and is a great guy all around. I would recommend 9 second if you're looking to have any dsm work done by a shop locally just based on the fact that Kenny works there.....

I stay away from shops that don't have a real shop address.

Hey sweetypie, ya gotta start some from somewheres
Check the brass, money and your own accomplishments.
Then draw from your own conclusions.

Somebody just gave their personal experience.

You mean start by stealing web ad copy from well known and hard working vendors?
That seems like a real reputable thing to do.
I wanna but parts from some clown at dormroom.com!

You should really do some research on a company before you start bagging on them. I don't think you can justify calling them CLOWNS when you get a 3-4 page spread in Turbo Magazine on their shop 240SX that they did a RB26 swap themselves. Also they are working with RI Skyline Revolutions to do all the conversions on Skylines they bring into the USA, and I don't thing they are doing this out of their dormroom.

This is just a big GUESS but the reason they probably have pictures of product from the vendors is to show product that is available, but more than likely order it once a customer is interested like probably 90% of the other companies out there.

Anyways back to the topic sorry salvageddsm, but I'm not sure how they are with dsm's but I know a couple of guys on other forums have had good luck with doing business with them. Might be worth stopping by their new shop to see what they are about, the new address is on their webpage.

That applies to you too.

Some of us are privy to information and events which brought these guys on the radar screen in November 2004. At that time they did not have a store front or a shop.

They not only used the photos of an established DSM vendors product, but they presented the product (an EVO turbo kit) as their own when asked about it over the phone.

They've since changed the advertising copy to state whose kit it really is.

Well ok ok got me on that one, can see if it isn't your product but label it as your shops kit that is messed up. But the way I read it sounded like using pictures of products off the manufacturers websites overall, not just a specific dsm vendor.

People are going to think what they want based upon information they have available to them.

If they do good work, great for them. Every business deserves to succeed on it's own merits. But don't expect everyone to set aside the past because they have become a successful operation today.

There are several "successful" businesses, who are well known players in the DSM world that I refuse to do business with because of things that happened in the past.

Not to split hairs, but IIRC someone else did that 240, they simply paid to have it done.

Where did you hear that from??? They are the ones that did the swap to my understanding.

I wont say where I heard what from, but use a little common sense- how does a RB swap get done in an apartment complex parking lot? My recollection is(and I will admit to being a little fuzzy one the details, it has been at least a year) that that car was built in California or similar then trucked in and decalled up. My latest understanding was that it has been sold to finance the purchase of a single Skyline. Also AFAIK (and I could be wrong) is that the 240 never made a pass down a track. It was exactly what it appeared to be, a marketing tool.
