Does anyone out there know of a place to get replacement rear vented discs for the 95’s?
I called Road Race and they don’t know of any!
Has anyone else run into this problem? Or are my only choices to go to a solid rear disc?

I didn't know that any DSMs came with vented rears. Are the '95s "hat-and-drum" in the back?

I'm not familiar with the term "hat-and-drum." But if you're asking if they have the e-brake built in the center of the disc, they do. It's not all the 95's that came with Vented Rears. Just the one's built back in 94 (as far as I've found). It's usually on the cars with all the options (Leather, ABS, Sunroof, Rear LSD). I usually have only seen them on Talon TSi AWD's but have come across a few GSX's with them. But everyone I've talked with haven't ever replaced them.

'95s built in '94 have vented rear rotors.
Any autoparts store can get a stock type replacement.
RRE does carry Powerslot slotted/vented rear rotors for the 95s.

I'm not familiar with the term "hat-and-drum." I guess they just call it that because if you take the rotor off, it looks somewhat like a hat. The drum part refers to having a separate drum brake just for the parking brake. The earlier 1g cars' rear calipers do double duty as the parking brake lever applies the same pistons as does the hydraulic brake pedal.
I've never seen that term written out, only spoken. I suppose it could actually be "hat on drum" or "drum in hat" or something equivalent. *shrug*

Not to hijack your thread...
Okay, so I have a new 96 TSI, can I put the 95 vented rear discs it? or would it make much difference...?

Only if you are willing to swap the whole hub out. The rotor, caliper and mounting points are all different on the 95.
In your case it would be easier to get a replacement kit from TCE or another company. I would not suggest doing so unless you already have a very beefy front brake setup.
