Hello All. I am new to these forums. I just bought a new Tranny for my 95 Talon AWD. It does not have a VIN number stamped on it and I can not find any info on decoding the other serial numbers on the case. The numbers are W5M332WQGE. Also QW8545 and in the bar code it is BQW8545 - WQGE. I am trying to figure out what car this came out of and possibly a year. I already know that it is not a US tranny but that is all I know. I also know that W5M33 is the designation for awd manual trans. Please help.

It's out of a Galant VR4 RS or an Evo 1-2.
I'd be willing to wager it has a 3.909:1 final drive and possibly a front LSD.

I was thinking it was an Evo or Galant aswell. I picked up the tranny and t-case and just got finished putting them in last night. It bolted right up with the exception of one bolt hole. The hole wasn't cast for the third bolt on the clutch accumulator but no biggie. I think I got a good deal on this at $925 shipped.

3.909:1 gears do not match the ratio in your rear end.

Hope you got a rear end to go along with that tranny...

You know I did not even think about that. But that is another reason to find out exactly what this tranny is I guess. What ratio rear do I need to get if that is the case?

Ok I misunderstood. The final drive of the trans would be 5.435 and the rear differential gear ratio I would need is 3.909 right?
