Somehow i managed to actually get the left rear caliper to lock on to the rotor... yes how pleasant is that. I took my car to brakes plus today just to see all the problems i had and this is what came up--new front pads and rotors (they are done for), both new rear pads and 1 rotor, and 2 new CALIPERS!! the final quote they gave me for all the work was somewhere in the high $800 range. Is there any way that i could get my caliper to unlock itself from the rotor until i can afford to buy all new brakes?

Which calipers? You can easily do all that work yourself a good deal cheaper. And depending on what calipers and what year you have you might be able to upgrade for a good deal less.

I need both new rear calipers, and i just wanted to take it there for a quote so i could what all i had to get done. I dont actually plan on doing all of that through them, I am going to try and find some aftermarket rotors and everything, but right now the drivers side rear is locked on and it grinds like hell while im driving.

Your best bet is to disconnect the Ebrake and try to pop it free if that is what you want to do. I would suggest just replacing the rear calipers before it catches fire and you have a bad day.

ahhh good plan. I need to get those replaced soon, but i want to try and find them for cheap. Brakes plus quoted me $341 for the rear pair. I do need pads and rotors though because on one of them it is metal to metal and the others are almost down to nothing. But if i just bought the calipers it would stop the grinding and everything.

Don't buy crap calipers you'll regret it. Either get OEM or something worth having, such as Wilwood/Brembo/Alcon etc. You should be able to buy used ones from people in the community, but don't post a want to buy here until you're a full member.
