Went to Bandi last Weds and managed only to get one partial run in.
Did a launch on antilag with about 20psi on tap. Spun all through 1st and shifted into second. Moment I let the clutch out in 2nd, I heard the *SNAP* and then no traction.
I just spun the fronts beyond anything. Shut it down and cruised the strip until the first turnoff.

The axle shots are the bottom five.

Holy hell, when something on your car breaks it really BREAKS. And I thought if you spun the tires it usually would save tranny and drivetrain parts, ohh boy was that person wrong.

That looks like a lot of money burned....
Sorry to hear that man, all in good racing...
Good luck fixing it.

Yeah, I only did the axle in last Weds. It's an easy fix. I left the car on the trailer until last Sunday when I had time to fix it. It's all good to go now and ready for another night of punishment. Now only if I could stop it from pushing coolant ;) .
I still haven't posted up pictures from my last snapped crank. That one actually looked kind of impressive. :D

pushing coolant huh, thats gonna be fun haha. I've never seen a cracked crank, pretty crazy, do you know what happened last time to cause a cracked crank? Over stressed engine?

First crank was an undercut crank. It broke right on the grind line so it was a bad grind job. This is the crank in the photos in that link.
The second one was also a ground crank, but this time, it probably broke because of torsional vibration. I was using an undampened unorthodox underdrive crank pulley. Funny thing with this one. It was shot peened, cryo treated, magnafluxed and balanced prior to installation. It broke rather impressively.
This one is a standard polished crank. No grinding, no nothing. See how this one holds up.

wow that is crappy, bad luck i guess marcus. Thats crazy you did all of that and it still broke. Maybe you should try an aftermarket crank from eagle or something? Is your motor 2.0?

Whew, guess I should keep myself up to date huh :D . That actually is better news, I was thinking all that work just gone.

yur putting down some serious power man. I'd love to be there to see a 10sec run in this summer. I'm sure it's quite capable now.
Get those DDS axels and let er rip.

That's not the only thing I'll have to upgrade. I still need to address the t-case and the 3-4 gear cluster along with the entire tranny itself. I still have a weak cluster.
I'm actually surprised the axle went sooner than the t-case did.
I hope to be putting some more power down this season. Since last year that I did the 504 uncorrected (604 corrected), I've put on a heavily ported cyl. head, 1 mil oversize valves, portmatched exh mani and am actually starting to run some real boost through this engine. Oh, forgot to mention the fresh build on the engine as well. Only time will tell how this thing will do at the track.

Yeah. Still haven't nailed that 10 up here though.
My MPH is higher here than what it was in Ohio, so it's just a matter of driving. 128.xx in Ohio on the 10.9 run and a 129.4x here while going to a 11.1.
For those interested, I just posted up photos from the last broken crankshaft. Same link as above. Bottom 6 photos.
