I finally got around to mounting them.

245 vs. 225 (http://216.32.68.82/gallery/d/3471-2/245+vs_+225.JPG)
Sticking out (http://216.32.68.82/gallery/d/3474-2/sticking+out+rear.JPG)
I did weigh them against stock 17" Talon rims.
Volk TE37, 18x8.5 w/ 245/35/18s = 40lbs
Stock 17x6.5 w/ 225/45/17 = 45lbs
These rims in a 30mm offset do not require any spacers and clear the suspension by a good 3mm.

On a 2G the suspension isn't as important as the knuckle. Also you aren't legal for road racing with them sticking out like that :)

That's where fender flares come in.

A true member of the Colorado Elite, Fender flares. Will they be chrome? At least I'll be able to ride with you down Federal safely.

Bah to fender flares, time to pull the fenders and go custom widebody!

We'll see. Right now I'm just happy they fit.
Actually I jsut checked the NASA rules and there is no restriction on tire width or size. I will get a deduction for using non-DOT tires.

Tire width or size, no. Tires sticking out past the vehicle yes. Only solo events allow it.

Yes yes, I have the PDF's. But I don't know any road courses that aren't solo events that allow that unless you're in an "open wheel" class.

I just like bustin his chops. I'm not a big fan of fender add ons. But to each his own :)

It does make them look small don't they?
Maybe some 14" BSL6s? Time to call Todd.

Cool! Them are nice! I honestly was thinking they would be lighter though.
Your class designation will superseed the main rules, so you'll be fine. Ever see a 325i with 335's all the way around? lol
Are you going to cut the fender any?

What is the exact weight for a single 18x8.5 TE37?

Traklite and Traklite 2 weigh 14.5 lb. for 17x8, but they only have offsets of 42mm & 45mm. At least at the one site I checked.

Those offsets suck. These weighed in at 18lbs for 18x8.5s and 40lbs with Hoosiers.
