Hello everybody, I was driving to work today and all of sudden I could't go into any gear... I was stuck in third! Yikes starting a car from third... never thought it would be that hard. Anyways, once I finally arrived at work I checked under the hood. I found that my shifter cable was lying on top of the shifter bracket. My real problem now is that I don't know how the thing goes back into the bracket. I searched the internet no luck... so I figured if anyone could give me a detailed description then it would be someone from here. Thanks you guys, have a great day.

hmmmm. I just stuck the cable back into the "O" looking bracket but it can move up and down (in other words towards the cabin and away towards the front of the car) hard to explain. The bracket looks like a "U" at the top and then turns into a large "O" at the bottom. I can get the shifter cable back into the bracket, but nothing seems to hold it there in place. So the shifter cable gets lodged in this bracket. A plate located at the top of the cable keeps it from slipping through the bracket. Yet nothing stops the cable from moving upwards towards the cabin, if I hit a bump it ends up laying back on top of the bracket. Or if I shift it "jiggles" around and ends up on top of the bracket again.:( It seems as if I am missing something to hold the cable in.
