This is my first post so here goes. I have a 1997 rs 2.0 non turbo. My second gear synchronizer is blown. The parts guy at mitsubishi says the only to get a new synchronizer is to buy an assembled output shaft. It sells for about 11 big ones, Franklins. I can do the work myself but I need another parts source. If that is not possible I need another transmission. If someone has one I'm interested. thanks

Try Don at 303-364-5838 or
Jack in Col. Sprgs. 719-243-5305
For "11 big ones" you could almost get a new trans... installed.

Yep, that's common for those Chrysler units. You are better off just finding a good core and refresh that one as much as you can, or sell the car and get an Eclipse with real Mitsu parts in it that are easier to deal with... There are a lot of people out there in the same situation as you. I am trying to find a solution for those trannies, but so far I can't come up with anything really cool to do to them. You're pretty much stuck having to just find another unit.
