Well I have been back for a while. Started tuning on this thing and then I put on a FP Red, Evo 3 manny and a 40mm Tial. Talon really started moving and then the I started having shifting problems. I bled this think, pulled out the pedal assy and rebuilt it with a new clutch pedal and bolts, washers etc.. Still no luck, so last night I pull the tranny and lo and behold. The retaining clip on the back of the release fork that holds it to the pivot ball got ripped out. Today I am going to put in a new release fork and throw out bearing hopefully get the Chicken Car back on the road.

So I did some thinking over the throne. I surmised the release fork was the effect and not the cause of my problems. I just went out to pull the clutch, it looked ok from the outside but as soon as I pulled it, it fell apart all over the garage floor.

Can you use a stock friction disk with a centerforce pressure plate like you can with an ACT?

Art? I know we talked about this before, but I can't remember.

For people with suggestions, I will not put an ACT clutch in my car.

Yeah, I do sometimes. The chicken car is on the road again. I cleaned out the pieces of the of the old friction disk from the pressure plate, put in a new ACT street disk. The old centerforce pressure plate, a new release fork and new mitsu throwout bearing. It's all good now.

What an interesting thread. Glad to hear you got it running again. Hopefully no more clutches blow up on you.

So what happened to not wanting to put in an ACT clutch in there? I understand sometimes things turn out to be the only option, but wondering if you have info that changed your mind about ACT or just out of necessity. Hope everything goes well now. ;)

Didn't have a choice. I leave to go back to Iraq on saturday. It is just a street disk with a CFDF pressure plate.
