Anyone go here on open days for track racing? I have a couple days off at the begining of the year, and seems they have open track time. What all is needed required to go play on the track? I would love to take my mirage up there, and have some fun!

Well, unless they do some track repair, off road tires ;)

They're an SCCA sanctioned track so expect to pass tech as such. Generally you shouldn't have to worry as long as you're not leaking fluids, and your tires are in good shape.

Damn the surface is that rough? Man I am dying to do some sort of racing, and all the RMSolo events are in the freakin springs, and I don't know if it's worth me driving so damn far just for autox.

When its open me and a couple of friends like to almost every week. The surface is not in too great of shape but if you get there early enough You basically have the track to yourself. Like stated above you have to pass tech, other than that its just the normal rules and safety regulations.

If anybody is coming down to run let me know, Ill meet up with you. PM me and let me know!

I was on thier site and it says you have to take a course to race the track, is this still true? It looks like they are free and clear for the first couple weeks of january!

Correct John. You can no longer just show up and expect to get on the track, those days are long gone. You now have to have some form of recommendation to get on, usually a license of sorts. For instance, you would need at minimum a time trials license. You can get one of these by completing 6 (?) autocross events, then you can apply for one. They will put in the car with an experienced driver and that person will have to give the thumbs about your driving. Once you have a license, you're good to good at all the tracks. There were too many "unqualified" drivers out there causing issues.

Erron, you also are correct. If you have a competition license from SCCA, NASA, etc., you're good to go.
You also can drive on the track if you have at least an HPDE 3 or greater rating thru NASA and have your log book with you to prove it.
The other way is to take their sadety course for $149.

It's open, unless they've changed it in the last couple of months. I went in October and passed inspection with my DD. If you are faster than 12.99 you need a helmet, and beyond that there are rules for faster cars, ie: cages, etc.

The "drag track" as you called it, is part of the road course. If you want to drive on the road course you will have to comply w/what I stated above. Check out the link.
If you are drag racing, you have to comply w/their rules for drag racing.
