Due to lack of Eprom ECU, DSMLink, and the funds to aquire these two items, I do not have any recent times. Here's my list o' mods.

1991 Talon FWD

-2.4L Block and crank, eagle rods, wiseco pistons, removed balance shafts, ported and polished head, SI 1mm OS SS valves, SI dual springs and TI retainers, Brian Crower 280 cams
-Garrett 57trim T3/T04E, Turbonetics T3 manifold, Tial 38mm WG, Tial 50mm BOV, non-turbo TB, dejontool race FMIC and short piping,
-FIC 1000s, re-wired walbro 255, gm maf and maft, aeromotive FPR
-MSD DIS 2, 300M Coil on plug,
-3" dejon intake with K&N, 3" turbo-back exhaust

My car is FWD but not a 1G DSM. 12.357 @ 122.15, '89 Mirage Turbo, 2135 lbs, 50 trim, 19 psi, 205/55-14 Nitto DR's, open diff, 91 pump gas, AFC2. I've seen a couple 1G FWD's down to the 2,300-2,400 lb range.

So it would probobly be worth building my 91 talon tsi fwd to drag race.I was just curious about how good they hook off of the line.If you can run 12s than thats almost my goal time,I want to run no faster than 11.60 or so.If I would be able to run that time in a FWD that would be awsome.

It is possible but prepare to give the tire guy lots of your hard earned money. I found that in my FWD 2g wheel spin seems to go up exponentially with power. I decided to do away with FWD when I lost 3rd gear to the wheel spinning monster. So if you are gonna do it one of the more important mods will be suspension and tires.

I race my fwd but wish it was awd. I would say that if you dont have the money to buy a awd then you dont have the money to get a fwd in to the 11s.

Very well said! I agree totally. Fwd is fun but not that fun. I have been in a few of the craziest fwd cars around here and while it was fun to be in it the 1/4 mile times sucked!!

The fastest street car in the state is FWD...granted he uses slicks at the track. How hard is it to bolt on a set of slicks. I was pulling consistent 2.1 60's on the DR's with no launch controls and NO burn out. It does take a lot more practice to learn how to launch and control wheel spin in a FWD car. Slicks make it a lot easier.

FWD for life. A differential, decent suspension and tires is all you need. It is not that hard really. I just had the diff and my car flew. It just requires a little more thought and finess with the throttle.

Agreed, I launch off of the two-step at 3100rpm's. Lol! Even then, I still slip the clutch a little (damn street tires)

I saw a guy in a blown 69 camaro on the street one time. It had a damn parachute. He said it ran low 8's and it sure ass hell looked like it did. The tires where insanely wide.

I was actually thinking of importsports car...but i guess its really not a street car, even though it competes in "street car" classes. Most people wouldn't consider my car a street car though :). Havn't all the USP import heads-up events here been won by FWD cars?

Not gonna argue that point. My car would fall under those catagories. It see's less than 100 miles in the winter months total. You would likely freeze to death.
