If you have the cable and can stop by, I can probably help you out.

Sweet....just an OBD-II cable correct? I'll prob. have to scoop one up from my sis's bf....I believe a snap-on diagnostics cable would work right? Thanks man.

Nope. If you have DSMLink, you'll need your DSMLink cable to look at the data.

If it's a basic OBDII scan, then you won't be able to watch the knock count, Only the timing curve. Granted you have a data streamer versus a basic scanner.

Yea, I don't have DSMlink....or it'd be scanned already:(

So what you're asking is that someone loan you DSMLink and log the car?

If at all possible. I'd rather have someone just utilize it on my car with me there rather than "Loan" per se. I wouldn't want to take anyone's equipment.

Basically just want to make sure nothing is awry. It runs really darn well, I just want to make sure I'm not hurting anything.

I have stock 450's and won't turn the boost over 15psi at all. I'm sure I'm probably not running into knock, but I like to be 100%.

Thank you for your help guys.

Just go to checker or auto zone and they will scan it for free.

I'm confused now.

Can you or can't you scan/check/read the amount of knock retard/points with an OBD-II Diagnostics Scanner?

I'm under the impression you need DSMlink (or AEM, etc)to do that.

Ooops. You can do it but not with their scanner. You would need the snap on or mac scanner and you can do it.

Charlie- there are lots of OBD2 scanners out there with varying abilities. One of the ones I use (and you are free to use) is a pretty damned nice one from OTC. Generically speaking the scanners used by the various parts stores are code readers only and do not have the ability to show live data.

I'm not aware of ANY OBD-II scanner that can read "knock" on a 2g ECU. It's not even part of the extended OEM code set.
