Don't they charge for spectators or is that on drag day only?

I signed up but definitely won't be ready by then. So if someone wants my spot, let me know and they can have it. I already talked with boostbuddy and they said someone could go instead of me, I just have to let them know who.

Kenny and I will be there as spectators to watch you Erron. Neither of our cars are quite ready yet, as you already know, but armed with my video camera I plan on getting some vids of you and Jake.

Of course, I still have small issues or else I would go. Looking at my charging system and also still trying to figure out the stutter issue. Looking forward to seeing how some of you do.

It was fun.

Worked on getting off the line with the new tires.

Got it figured out then snapped a right rear axle... oops

The tires made a huge difference in the first 1/8th.

Several runs with 102 mph in the 1/8th and 133 in the 1/4 before I got the launch figured out.

My brothers day wasnt so well. Pretty sure it dropped a valve. Engine has less then 2k miles on it too.

The log from the run had no knock at all and was his fastest trap. After he finished something happened, engine has something beating around in it, deffinatly not good.

Wow, not a good day for DSMs! Davis, glad you got to go out and make it. Sorry about the tranny. Who ended up winning the event?

I saw on EvoM that an Evo from Colorado Springs won the time attack expert class... Don't know about the overall...

All right, Jake and others who participated. Where's the full report? It sucked not being able to run, or even watch, and now you guys are holding out.... :) We want details, and right now! :)

BTW, Clayton (Wartalon) said the 2g (I'm assuming Jake's) was the nicest DSM he'd ever seen :)

Not much for me to add except:

A single pass with a good 60' would have been nice, but oh well.

A3S05's stick like crap at the drag strip. They were cold as shit and I was all over the place like I was driving on ice. We were still dealing with the lower intercooler pipe blowing off that was plaguing every run that we had at the road course. Made a pass where it held for first and second but on the shift from second to third it blew off. Coasted in to a 14.1. The car was all over the track through first and second. Finally got the pipe fixed and went out for the quick 8. Lined up against Hal (the run that he broke) and I had to pedal the shit out of it. Every time I got in the gas I was all over the place. Ran a pathetic 13 at 119. The freaky thing was that we picked up 40MPH on the back half. Just not good tires to be trying to drive on cold. I'd get into it, hit boost, head towards teh wall or the other lane and back out line it back up, and hammer it again just to see the same. We had fun though. And the two days served as good test and tunes for the car. We have a few things to re-engineer, but for the most part I'm happy with the way it performed. We destroyed the front splitter, and I have an ouput shaft seal to replace. Other than that nothing major broke.

I'll make you a deal Jake, you and I will go to t-n-t and swap rides. I'll let you beat the hell out of my car for as many passes as you can and you give me 2 passes in yours. One to get a feel for the car and the second to drive it like I stole it. Think about it.

Won't happen. Personally I don't give a rats ass what my car runs at bandimere. Everyone knows I think drag racing is gay. I did not go out there to see what it would run. I went out to get some seat time in the car. As far as I'm concerned it was testing for straight sections of a road course. I needed to see what was working and what wasn't so we could make changes. We found out some very good information about the charge pipe system, mainly I don't think one BoV will be enough (the main reason we were having trouble both days). After we get this sorted we'll start testing more at some closer road tracks. I appreciate the offer but there are very few people I'd trust with my car. If you put it in the wall I don't think you'd like the bill I'd send you. It's not about your driving skills or anything. It's about who's insurred to drive it.

I'd sure like to see what the insurance company will say if you had to send them the bill for repairing or replacing that car :)

Start doing the math Davis and you'll find that it's considerably more expensive than you'd expect to repace it.

Don't take what I said as an insult, I'm just curious to see how your car handles down the track. I can honestly say that if the car is setup well and doesn't break during full power operation, I won't be putting it into a wall. Also, why do you think drag racing is gay, do you feel its easy or offers no challenges? It doesn't show a how well a car is built, tuned and driven? While I don't feel drag racing is best venue for racing, its commonly accessable and is a good place to develop other skills. A car that can't hook up at the drag strip and get smoothly though the gears is gonna really be a spectacle on the road coarse.

You would also be suprised how easy my car is to drive. This car has been down Bandimere almost a 1000 times (still have every slip) and 91 times with its current motor/turbo set up. It runs consistent 11.9-12.1's @ 127-129 mph at 25 psi on street tires. I would also be willing to let you run the slicks if you so choose.

I would be willing to allow just about anyone with compairable performance, swap rides with me. Just in the name of racing and trying new things, possibly gaining some insight from other's experience.

Lets make this simple. My car, I'm the only one insurred to drive it. End of story. Back on topic.

I didn't see you out there Tyler? Should have come and said hi, or maybe you did.

Well, I need a tranny or a rebuild, or a dogbox.

This was my best run of the day..
R/T .529
60' 1.775
330' 5.069
1/8th 7.782
mph at the 1/8th 94.84
1000' 10.055
1/4 11.968
mph 121.00

Then for like the next 4 or so runs, I couldn't do it again. Can't get it into 3rd,
can't get it into 4th, or bouncing off the limiter fouled the plugs, etc.(insert generic drag racing excuse here :D)

I'm happy though. First time to the track on a totally un-proven setup and it goes 11's. That makes me happy. Especially since it was at 20psi of boost, lol. It'll only get better from here I believe. More fuel, more timing, and something less than 18 gallons of fuel in the tank and it should be fun. The day had it's ups and downs, but I got a great tan kickin' it with my buddies so I call it a good day! :D
