I'm sure that most of you have heard that NOPI pulled the plug on the Colorado and Utah events last week.

Some of the local shops have gotten together with Bandimere and there will be Sport Compact racing this coming Staurday.

All of the local Sport Compact racers are being asked to make a special effort to make this event.

If I get a 90 bell housing, I can get my transmission back together and will race.

Hey Seth, I have a bellhousing sitting here in my garage that may be of use.

Good luck to those who will be going. I'll be in another part of the state while this is going on. Grrrr.

I'll be there in Jake Knutson's 2g gsx.. Trying to get the word out that his car is for sale.
So if anyone is interested in buying a nicely built 2g come up and check it out.

basic mods on his car are
2.0L 6 bolt crower rods, ross pistons, 1mm oversized valves, ported 1g head, tubular ex manifold, FP 3065 turbo with polished compressor housing, greddy fmic, 3 in i/c piping, gm blow through, dsm link, magnus intake mani, 950cc injectors, aeromotive FPR, web cams "race grind", 3 1/2 IN exhaust. Car was a FWD he converted it to AWD and added a fuel cell with an aeromotive A-1000 pump, all aeromotive fuel lines, I think he has a 6 puc act 2600 in it right now..
Should have Dyno numbers later this week..

I don't know what to do. I have a tranny that grinds into 4th. I could race, or just spectate. I may bring the family. I may bring the car. I may eat a sandwich. What would you do? Maybe I should run the daily in the brackets?

My new axles won't be here in time so I'm going to take the barstool up to hang out with Sam and the guys from Import Sports.

Any reason why NOPI canceled?

Can't. The tranny in the race car is somewhat modded. Hardened output shaft, cut shifter, etc...

Plus, the daily is a 25 spline.

Or wire in the clutch switch and NLTS. My tranny did the exact same thing as yours does...grinding into 4th...but with NLTS it was like butter. I say you give it a try before you send in the towel.

Then come on over! Let's get this be-hotch wired up! (I could do it, but honestly since i've been working from home the past month, I could use the company. I'm starting to feel like a hobbit up in here!)

Because NOPI is a shitty "governing body".

Quit being lazy and have your hobbit friend help you if you need help (I know Shawn is 2 minutes away...lol). Honestly though I could help if you bring it to me, but I'm busy with the '95 getting it back together this week over here so its hard to make my way to you. Who knows maybe I race Saturday if I finish these few things up. I'm using a 1G 7-bolt block, 1G rods and 2G pistons on this new build I'm doing myself and hope to have it in the car by end of day tomorrow if everything gets done with getting the rods fitted to the pistons today.

If you spectate this race Saturday I'll never let hear the end of it. It's not broke till you can't use it anymore.

I hardly ever hear from him anymore. He has been hanging out with the chicky. I'm trying to get him to at least come on Saturday, but has something else to do or something.

Well, this other transmission isnt good enough to race on (and expect it to survive) so I'll be spectating.

first time out with the colt nailed a 12.079 @115.62. Where was the dsm crowd? only a few of us showed up.

The turn out for the "street" heads up class was pretty impressive.

A lot of good racing on Saturday.

I would encourage everyone to let the class sponsors AND Bandimere know how much we appreciate the effort put forth to host something "at the last minute".

Ya we were talking to sporty at bandimere for awhile before the last run and he said he was impressed and happy to see so many fast cars... so thats good!!

Maybe they will add some heads up classes to the next event which as of now is only bracket racing.

I was there as a spectator. I could only stay for about 1.5 hours though. I did see some of the early racing and had a good time.

I went and attempted to race! LOL. Was my first time trying to lauch the car with the new setup, and with a launch controll stutter box. And I pretty much get a big ol' "F" on it at best! The car hooked way better than I expected it to and I was not able to slip the clutch enough, and ended up shearing the D/R axle off at the splines inside the rear diff housing. The car was really getting ready to take off though! I got most of first gear spinning the front tires off the car, grabed second and heard way to much noise so I shut down and coasted the rest of the way through the 1/4. Still managed a 14.3 at over 100mph I've been told. Its hard to see the board in the video we have because he was watching the car. Looks like its time for a 4 bolt rear!
