The wife gave me the best Valentine's gift ever. A one day race class at Boundurant, in Phoenix, AZ. Get to drive a C6 Corvette Z51 for a day. I do not have any race experience, so this will be a perfect class for me. Plus I get a vacation with the family in AZ. I used to live in Phoenix for about 6 years, when I worked for Intel. I always wanted to take a class there when I lived in Chandler, but never did.
Also have family in Tucson, so it will be a great trip.
Also, it will let me see how the C6 Corvette is. After owning a C5 Vette, I was disappointed in the car. Maybe the C6 will change my mind about US cars again.

Wow! Very cool! From what I've seen of C6's in NASA, you'll have a hack of a great time.

I had a great time at the class. The C6 Z-51 was a nice car. The only bad thing was we couldn't turn off the stability control system. Of course, I was the fastest student :D
Here are some pics.

The only time that a helmet was used was on the 1.6mile track, which was only one exercise. All the other stuff we couldn't build up enough speed to warrant a helmet. Or at least that is what the insurance adjuster said :)
Here is a link of a map of Firebird. The track was the Bondurant Course.

Looks like a blast! Racing on a road course is still on my "TO-DO Before I die" list. I already checked out Skydiving, SCUBA diving, bungee Jumping, racing in the quarter mile, .......but then I add more to the list...haha.
Are you going to finish that damn Talon? I wanna see it going.....if you need help hit me up, I go up to Denver with the girl occassionally to visit her family & I'm always looking for an excuse to go & do something else, so hit me up.
