Street tuner mayhem !!!

Well its that time of year again. I have building / tuning my car for the past 5 months now and this is what my goal is . To participate , not break and have a respectable time finally. It is always great to see everyone again after another long off season and see what everyone has done to their cars over the winter. Who is all going , where are we going to pit at ?

Well it was a good day , 3 qualifying passes , 1-12.5 sec , 2 more 13.0 .. A little disheartening .Did the first elimination round , won it , next race bogged the start and just barely lost to an evo. That'l teach me to go easy on the launch. So 20 psi at launch for me ... let'm spin some through 1st. I didn't see too many dsm's there , I don't know why . All in all , a good fun day , didn't break , drove the car home.

I was out there ran like 10 or 12 times....I took 3rd place in super mod and ran consistant 12.3-12.5 best pass was a 12.3 at 114mph....This was on my 4g63 n/a longblock wich is bone stock the n/a cams are killing my top end, and greddy 18g set at 24psi.....

LOL...Yeah still n/a cams my guess i would pick up alot from cams at this point...Yeah my car has an awd conversion and it is some what shiny black and black rims, caged with full interior....

Congrats Jim and Hemi-Colt. I went up to talk to you a couple of times but you where never with your car. I ran my can and was fairly happy with the way the day went. Had a head ach of issues with my fist 2 passes. 1st pass went 12.49 getting 10-11 counts of knock out of the whole on just 2 step (no anti-lag) and between 6k-7k. got back to the pits added more fuel up top. 2nd pass knocking again at the tree but up to 13 and almost stalled on the line. So I just limped down the track that pass was 17.3. So I lower my launch rpm from 7k to 6k and that fixed the knocking issue. So my 3rd qualifier was the best pass I have had in the car to date with a 12.38 at 111.10 and a 1.78, 60' but I was eliminated round 1. So i got all the bugs worked out and I’m heading back to the track Wednesday to see If I can get to an 11.99999999.

Sorry I missed you , maybe we could meet up out at the track sometime. I will be out later this month after a few changes to my car. What mods have you done to your car? Are you on e 85 or gas? I see we both live in Arvada , stop by sometime . Jim, 303-718-1372.

You know who I am Jim. I am one of the twins I drive the white 95 talon. And yes I am using e85 on a single re-wired 255 with 1000cc injectors.

I set the launch limit at 5250 rpm but still bogged it. Oh well, still way better than last season. It is cool to leave the line spinning all the wheels for a bit. I still have trouble with the r/time.
