Get together sometime soon?

Ok so what are everyone's plans this month? I'm hoping to have the talon on the street next weekend so I was thinking sometime this month we should all get together. Any thoughts or ideas?

i was planning a gettogher with the other people in COSP. we ussually meet up every couple months as it is. its not far from aurora so you might as well come down.

Ahhh, come on you guys couldn't wait until the club was at least two weeks old could ya! I'd love to join you all but my motor was just finished by RRE & will be shipped out in a week. I've still got alot to do before it's back on the road:( If it takes place in denver I might bring my wife's 1.8T beetle (the "T" is for turbo):D

One of my co-workers wanted a little race so we went on to I-25. Lets just say the neon walked away on the 80mph+ of the power band :)

Ohhh, this might really be a good race! The bug pulls really hard above 80ish as well. Being FWD it takes a second to get going but it reall takes off in upper gears. It's torque ban peaks at 1700rpms and holds steady (plateau's) till 4800 rpm! feels like a much bigger motor. The bad part is it has a punny KKK KO3 turbo which is the smallest turbo on a mass produced car to date:eek: But never fear, it's only running 7psi stock so a quick $300 & 18psi later 210 hp (185 whp). Not too shabby, for a girls car ;)

I took out a celica GTS (175hp) the other day....A stock turbo DSM is a good race as they win by a nose, from a roll of course:)

Just waiting waiting to say I beat David at a race! DSM's are another story.

would mid-febuary be good for everyone? i think south denver is pretty much centraly located for everyone. so if you know a good bar/resturant(applebees, old chicagos, benigans) on the south side post it. i leave for Arizona for a couple months in march, so i'd like it get this rolling again.

since i have never had the opportunity to eat at any of the establishments up there, so i therefore can't speak on the level of service they provide. if there is one that stands out above the others let me know and i'll make reservations for the 16th of Feb.(sat.). also i'll need numbers, how many of us are going to be there. i'm sure there are 2 right now.

210 hp is not enough for a "girl's car" :P Unless it weighs 1600 lbs.

300 hp is the absolute minimum that makes any car "fun" to drive :P

I'm lookin forward to this meet we're going to have. Hopefully one of my DSMs will be in driving shape by then. 2G has the slipping clutch so its more like 10 hp and the 1G has a leaky dying water pump and its not registered or insured.

my car sucks so bad right now. well i've got the I/C leak MOSTLY under control. i can hold boost up to 10psi, than pow, suck, stutter. i think i'll leave it and just turn it over to the dearlership as is.

Well, it looks like my timing belt stuff is not showing up today. Damn UPS! So this weekend will be little things like fixing the ebrake on the 1G (any one ever done this?) and cleaning things up....doing the popup headlight mod.

Haha, well, autoxing every weekend in the summer without sunscreen does that =)

As for the ebrake: Well, I pull up as hard as I can on the ebrake, but it doesn't engage the brakes firmly enough....so the car still rolls. I was thinking if I tightened or shortened the cable somehow it would work better. I haven't looked at the system yet, does the ebrake work off of its own rear brakes (drum) or does it use the existing calipers/rotors to stop the car? Maybe those parts need to be replaced.....I hope not, I hope its just tightening the cable, what do you guys think?

Sounds like just a loose cable to me. I adjusted mine yesterday, it's easy.

I just took out my cupholder/ashtray and tightened the cable. I think the 1g should be the same way.

you mean i have 6 days to:

finish welding the sheet metal intake
cut open the hood
install the buschur 3" tb which is not a direct bolt up
install the J&S safe guard
install the 30"w x 14.5"w x 9"h hood scoop which is on back order
and find this damn engine noise that is comming from the engine block. heya DAVE HELP!!!

oh yea so thats what im doing every one good luck figureing out what im making. DAVE DONT TELL!!!
