Donations welcome:-)
I wouldn't waste a dime on an HRC turbo.
They have yet to demostrate that they are worth the money.

I'll second Hal here.
HRC isn't a bad vendor, but their use of the 10cm turbine housing trades spool-up for top-end flow. I've never even heard of a HRC super turbo'd DSM being faster than a reg 20g'd, or even a 16g'd dsm for that matter.
Quite a few people have even gone back down from an 8cm2 turbine housing to the 7cm2 turbine side on the FP Green and Red turbo's, and they are faster for it. Both of these turbo's are bigger than a 20g...
Just remember that the turbo isn't the end-all solution to going fast. It is the total correct set-up and tuning that makes or breaks the car...

Sighs...
Well I have no choice. I am a GS and I only have two options. Star kit or HRC kit. I chose the HRC kit and am happy w/ it so far. (As far as the turbo and manifold go)
The Star kit comes w/ a Turbonetics t3/t4 hybrid and a cast manifold. The HRC came w/ a Super 16g and a tubular manifold.
That is the main reason why I chose the HRC kit.
I am at a disadvantage when it comes to turbo selection. If I could I would run a red, green, frank, HKS, Greddy, etc. Unfortunately I am not as lucky as you 4g63's are.:(

As far as that goes, keep your eyes open this summer. You will at least see a S16G be faster than a 16G. At the very least...

what...no MUTTs.
there is always a way to make one work. just reduce the size of the exhaust mani(where the turbo bolts to that is), and you should be able to bolt on any turbo your heart desires.

I have never seen or herd of anyone doing that to a gs or rs in the last three years. It would be nice to have more of a selection. I personally am happy w/ the HRC turbo. I have full boost at 2500-2800 rpm.
But only this summer will tell....

well neither have I. but who wants to be a slave to a monopoly. thats the whole reason they use parts like that, so your stuck haveing to upgrade with more parts from them.
hell, a custom header wouldn't cost that much. and the way the IC pipes run, you could put in any turbo you want. either use the rubber elbow or a coupler(for a garret type).
any crap, what about the upgrades for the conquest/starion. thats a 10cm housing, garret turbo. doesn't buschur sell those? someone must know.
hey its nothing personal, atleast your spending your money the way you want to and not being suckered into body kits and nitrous because its only a GS. i just beileve there are more options out there than HRC.

I think the main reason why there aren't many choices is because the turbine housing and exhaust exit on the passenger side versus the 4G63 turbos that exit on the driver's side. It is definately true about the slow spool up characteristics of the 10cm housing! I've been in Brian's car a few times and it spools up very slow, but it pulls extremely hard on the top end. My 20Gd Talon spools up much faster with a 7cm housing.
