$200 paint job

Well, even though my 1G doesn't have its idle problems fixed, (I think its the egr valve on the intake mani leaking vacuum but I've been too sick/lazy to check it out) I'm gonna get the 12 yr old daily driver painted. I tore out an ad from Earl Schibe a few weeks ago and they give a 3 year pro-rated warranty paint job deal for $200. No clear coat. But, uhm, who cares? It is a 12 yr old car and not my real DSM =)

So if you see a sunshine yellow 1g around with Mitsu 2g 16 inch rims, that's me. LOL. Maybe I'll come to my senses and get it silver or something......I drop it off at 9 am tomorrow. I'll take and post pictures for all to see when I get it back.

Who's doing the prep for the paint?

What kind of paint?

Are they gonna warranty their paint on the urethane body panels? Make sure you ask and get it in writing.

Yellow with some dark tint and blackouts might look good!

They do the prep work....sand and such.

The warranty doesn't say anything about the type of body panel. It covers rippling, cracking, etc. Anything paint isnt supposed to do.

Yellow would look cool with dark tint and blackouts....I've already got 5% limo tint on my 2g....it makes night driving difficult sometimes, but god! Its such a switch going to my 1g. I feel naked and blinded cuz there's nothing on the windows with all the light shining in =)

My yellow 1G is awesome! I had it painted at Earl Schibe over the weekend.
As I was driving there at lunch to pay for it and check it out I kept
worrying, what if I don't like it? But as I was driving by on the street
and spotted it from 75 yrds I was like, That's my car?! Its awesome! Black
top is gone....whole car is yellow.......Its definitely not the best paint
job I've ever seen so the car looks a bit ghetto up close......but its
warrantied so I'm bringing it back in 2-3 weeks to fix the overspray and the
dust/sand imbedded in the paint. I'm going to bring it home tonight and
I'll take pics and post them tomorrow. But jeez! Its cool as hell!

So anyone who's on the South side of Colorado Springs by Academy and
Platte....take Platte west for a few blocks and look to your right to spot
my bling bling ride ;)
