Just want to publicly thank Art and Patrick for coming by my house Saturday and Sunday to help with the Yellow 1G's timing belt / water pump / accessory belt hell install! =) I couldn't have done it without you guys....well, maybe I could but I'd still be trying to turn the crank to line up the timing marks ;)
The water pump isn't leaking any more to my knowledge....but the engine still makes strange whirring sounds, like something is out of balance. Maybe that's what we get for skipping the Timing Belt B part? =/ Stupid special tools.....as we found out this weekend those special tools are the tools that had to ride the short bus going to tool school.
There's a few other coolant leaks due to 12 yr old rubber hoses in the engine bay, but nothing as annoying as a water pump.
HOWEVER, the Yellow 1G has the most annoying idle problem ever. From this day out I am offering a case of beer (or drug of your choice) or maybe I can hook you up with the blonde upstaris from me for whoever solves the idle surge / dying at idle problem! I have tried everything....I am at the mercy of the DSM gods at this point. I'd like this car to be "normal" so I can take down my 2G and do the clutch soon. 5k clutch dumps with a clutch that's already slipping just smells up the car and very quickly shortens the life of the almost bare CFDF.

Ready to take the rubber mallet to the Yellow car.
