After riding in Brian's turboed GS and seeing that it's capable of boost, I am now much more inclined to boost the ESi. Why? Because I can! :D We were thinking of nitrous, but having never dealt with nitrous I'd rather not give it a "shot" on a daily driver. So I have a spare 14B lying around along with a brand new inline fuel pump. A friend of mine back in Iowa can custom make headers, so most of the major peices are already taken care of. Plus there are some of us that can point me in the right direction for custom i/c pipes. That leaves the fmic and custom exhaust off the 14B. Shouldn't be too hard, plus we have a header on the car now so I can send the stock exhaust manifold off to my friend to use as a guide for the custom header, and not have any downtime in the meantime. Plus, I already have a MLS headgasket on the car so it should be safe to boost up to 7 or 8 psi. Time will tell what happens for sure, but it won't be done until sometime next year as we have plenty of other plans for the Spyder and the '90 Talon in the meantime.

I say go for it. There are a few guys running custom setups on the nt board and they seem to be working out fine for them. Just make that header so you can upgrade the turbo down the road.
