Ok here is whats going on. I just called and confirmed all the information I needed. We will be arriving at Autosport Werks at 11:00AM Saturday and start pulling at 12:00PM. We only have 3 vehicles that will be pulling on the dyno. In the future we can arrange to have everyone do a pull or two if we want to get a club thing going. I'll talk it over with the guy that runs the shop and see what he has to say.

If you would like to see what a dyno run is like in person especially a hub dyno you can show up on saturday and watch.

Here are the people that will be dyno'n.

Dave Landry (1990 Eagle Talon TSI) Tuning
Carl Morris (GVR4) Tuning
Quinn Kuzmich (95 Eclipse GSX) Baseline

Here are the prices just for everyones knowledge.

$125 - Includes setup and two pulls
$100/hour - This is the fee for every additional hour after that.

Most dyno's charge you by pull. So this is a really good deal.

The location is:

Autosport Werks
465 Alter Street
Broomfield, CO 80020

If you plan on being there to watch, reply to this thread.

See you guys there,

You could check a map:
http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=465+Alter+St&city=Broomfield&state=CO&slt=39.921538&sln=-105.092270&name=&zip=80020-1683&country=us&&BFKey=&BFCat=&BFClient=&mag=8&desc=&cs=9&newmag=9&poititle=&poi=&ds=n
Basically, you could follow Wadsworth all the way up to Broomfield, it takes you nearly all the way-probably about 2 mins. off Wads.

I'll try to be there just to watch if I can get some gas money...

I live half a mile from ASW, but unfortunately I have a meeting at 12:00 in Boulder. I would so love to watch you make a pull, though. :(

I hope all goes well for you guys.

Well we dyno'd the car and it measured 435 HP and 297 ft.lbs of torque and that was mixed with 30 counts of knock. I'll post the plots monday sometime when i get them scanned in.

Whoot!

Does the dynapack use the concept of a correction factor, as the dynojet does?

That's some nice HP, Dave. Congrats. :) How much boost? Were you burning 104? How did the other guys do?

Yup they do the correction just like the dynojets. Its actually a cool setup. Its just a PITA to get the install done. We also set it up to read the boost and we can clearly see that it takes till 5500rpm to hit a full 27psi. 22psi I can hit at 5000rpms.

The first three runs I did at 27psi. Then I turned it down to 22psi as a test to see if I can eliminate the knock. Knock is a never ending battle UGH. If I can get the knock down to a reasonable amount I should be able to hit 500hp at the wheels w/o nos. The calculation on the dyno determined I have 502hp at the crank right now.

Did you get the chance to reset the ECU between pulls? Once you knock, the DSM ECU will remember it for WAY too long.

Sheesh - your car spools about like mine does. :) What were your A/F ratios like?

Nah didn't get that crazy with it. I put some 110 in this evening and WOAH i think my knock problem is gone. Only one way to find out :) Datalog time....

hehe - I dynod at 254 HP on the crank with 2 blown seals and a SMIC so damn hot it burned Shea when he touched it... FMIC here I come!!!

On an added note I got the car tuned right at about 11 pm and its HELLA faster...

Dave is that 110 that you put in you car leaded or unleaded???

DlandryTSI

i believe everything from 104 up is leaded.

So do any of you think leaded fuel is bad? I am considering putting it in my car

First you need to datalog your car to see if you really need it.

Pete Palamara recently bought 10 gallons of 108 unleaded. I have my doubts as to it's true octane content, but I'd be willing to try it. If 104 doesn't do the trick.

It will eat your O2 sensors, and if you have a cat converter on the car it will plug the cat.

OEM O2 sensors are good for about 5 hours worth of burning leaded fuel. After that they get sloooooow and need to be replaced. Unless you like getting REALLY BAD gas mileage. :)
