We're getting together a few people to go cruising down south. Most likly the Quebec area since up by me is "outlawed" now. I know Mike, Keith and I are in for sure. I need to keep puttin' on miles. Sounds like it will be pretty big, KBPI morning show has been talking about that location all week long. Last weekend had 2 Callaway vette's, one twin turbo, and a guy in a Viper,...or was it a garder snake.hehe Who's in?

We should be able to make it. Sounds like fun. :)
There was one Calloway Vette there last Saturday with two turbos, intercoolers, AND nitrous. It was pretty sweet, then there was anothere yellow Vette, not sure what was done to it, and the black Viper had nitrous. They all left about an hour after we all showed up, I think they went to race somewhere. Other than that there were a handful of DSMs, other than all of us, and they appeared to all have 16Gs, plus several ricers and a few domestic cars. It was pretty laid back and the cops don't mess with anyone, so it's an ok place to hang out and maybe find a good race.

Ok, just talked with Dave and a few others. Looks like everyone wants to meet at the Hamburger Stand between 6-7. Eat, then caravan down from there. Sound good to everyone? See you there!!

my car crapped out yesterday too. SO TODAY (SAT) quinn and i are pulling out the tranny and rebolting the flywheel again... THIS TIME IM TORQUING IT DOWN HARD!!! ILL Still be at the hs
James are you saying that you didn't torque the flywheel down correctly and to the correct torque specs last time?
"Torquing it down hard" doesn't sound like a torque spec to me.
Do you have a way to hold the fywheel still while torquing the bolts? And do you have a torque wrench that will torque 100 ft. lbs.? Torque the 2600 pressure plate to the flywheel at 30 ft. lbs. Note that 30 ft. lbs. is twice the factory torque spec...
BTW - Use some Loc-tite on those bolts... ;)

he DID have loc-tite on it - it desintegrated so hes putting them in with some better shit this time.. This is a bitch of a job but i figure we can have this thing in and out in 3.5 hours... heh heh heh..

oh yeah.. this isnt as hard as i thought it would be, but my car is going to be alot harder..

Is that because it's yours??? Or is it because you are going to have to do it by yourself? ha ha
Loc-tite does not disentigrate. And torque specs are there for a reason - "real hard" is not a torque spec. Get a freaking clue, you guys. And you wonder why the car(s) keep breaking?
Holy shit...

why would yours be any harder at all??? Thats really dumb.. A tranny is a tranny. Either you have to un bolt 7 bolts on the flywheel or 6bolts.. Man that 1 bolts gonna kill ya!! let me tell ya...

Well he obiously didn't use lok-tite. If he would have and also torqued them to specs, then they wouldn't have come loose.

Hey Genius... he has a FWD NT and I have an AWD Tsi... Not to mention that fully 1/2 of the stuff in his engine bay is GONE. Care to rephrase that? You really should think about what youre posting...

Yup, i definatly don't want to refraise that!!! I could have you tranny out and pressure plate, and flywheel off of your own car before you could, have his fwd tanny unblolted!!
Considering neither is very hard AT ALL!! There really isn't to much to discuess here. It's simply not that much different and awd and a fwd. If you really think there is try doing both before you get on here and act like you have a clue what you are talking about. I'll give you that maybe he doesn't have as much stuff in the way as you may have, but thats all really easy!! The main difference is the t case. how long does that take, like 5 minutes to get off. hmm thats probably like 20 or 30 in retarted monkey terms (or for you anyways) Then you have the down pipe, slave cylender, motor mount, rear tranny bolt, and all of the other tranny bolts. It really only takes a total of 1 hour to do. If all your doing is a clutch you should have it done in an afternoon. But i guess you already know that beings as though you have done it so many times.
Next time GET your FACTS straight before you OPEN you FAT MOUTH!! peace.
