View Full Version : On the prowl
The Eclipse is back on the road, and by the end of this week I will have a new DSMLink chip.
It will allow me to do some pretty neat stuff... like turn off the N2o when a certain level of knock is reached :)
Hal
Yes, it can log boost.
I already have a Palm application that interfaces to the DSMLink.

So is it the new DSMlink chip which allows boost logging? Congrat for you on the car, bad news for others;) Now get it out to the track damn it:D

No, the original chip allows you to do that.
This chip has some special features... one of which will allows the ecu to turn OFF the N2o if the knock gets too bad :)
It will see track time this month. This weekend I'll do some "street" tuning. Then based on the results, I'll decide when to head for the track.

your car is really gonna turn some heads this year:D
so are you still going to keep the 150 shot or was that a bit much? what do you have the the preset rpm range at, or boost level? how is that working out with the Aquamist?

It will remain jetted for a 150 shot.
The N2o controller allows me to choose what % of the jetted shot I want to run, how long into the run before it comes on, how much time it takes to reach the desired %, and (optionally) how long to run it.
The n2o is disabled below 4k and above 7200... with the rev limiter set to 7500 (for now).
The Aquamist is still there, but there is a signal interface that turns the water off when the N2o comes on. It does it by cutting the RPM signal to the Aquamist controller, causing the controller to see 0 rpms and thus stop the water flow.
While the car was down, I did a *lot* of things to increase reliability and a few things for performance:
01) Aeromotive inline fuel pump
02) -6 fuel return line
03) Full 3" o2 eliminator (used to be 2.5")
04) All turbo water lines are now -6
05) All oil cooler water lines are now -6
06) Limited slip front diff
07) Stock flywheel (the Jun is still for sale)
08) 2nd -6 line for the N2o fuel
09) BR8EV spark plugs
10) Rpm switch for the N2o bottle heater - lets me drive in traffic without killing the battery. Bottle only heats above 2k rpms
11) Special bottle heater fitting allows the bottle heater to run with the N2o valve closed.
12) NHRA drive shaft loop
13) Heat wrap on the downpipe and *some* -6 hoses
14) NHRA power off switch - yes it kills the motor
15) Profec B
16) DSMLink - custom chip and controller software
17) Rewired all of the aftermarket gauges
18) O-ringed head with new valves and lifters
19) Temperature senders in the intake plenum and the I/C inlet
20) TPS voltage based switch for the N2o WOT signal
I'm sure I forgot a few things.

OMG... You sir, are just EVIL.. ANd you drive a red DSM to boot! lol.... Did you sell your immortal soul to the Devil?
Well I didn't even mention that the N2o bottle has an electric opener.
I can open/close it from the drivers seat just by pressing a button, and the DSMLink "custom" is just that. A chip, and software that NO ONE else has :)

is this cause Ari was talking shit last year?:p

Hal do you have a full list of mods somewhere that i could look at and possibly drool over??
Congrats dave on the 12.4 nice run considering the whole rev limiter thing!! Dave when are you going to open up the little bottle in the back? I would love to see that thing go on nos!! that would be nuts... You going to need slicks Both of you are
