What would you expect my brothers car to run in the quarter...
Its a 93 Talon TSI - Automatic
Stock 14B Turbo
Boost Contoller set at 16-17 psi
2.5" Downpipe
2.5" Buschur Racing Catback
and 2.5" testpipe
And free mods
O yeah, when he drag races it he power brakes it to 3000 rpm, right where the turbo almost makes full boost.
His best time when he was stock w/ a bad turbo was 16.5 @ 90?? I think.
mid to high 15
who knows, its hard to guess an auto

but with an auto, I'd probably expect it to be very consistant, right?

he replaced it from the turbo company in golden, and I think I remember it saying 14B on the turbo
14b is printed nowhere on the turbo. if it says td05 then it could be a 14b, 16g or 18g
if it says td04 its a 13g I believe.
if its a td04 then it wont flow a whole lot.

Well the car is running bad. Ran it at the test and tune wed. and only got a 15.9 @ 84 mph.
Last year it ran a 15.7 with the 13G turbo, with everything stock.
This time a 15.9 with a 14B, 2.5" Downpipe, testpipe, and catback, free mods, buschur racing fuel pump upgrade, and boost controller???
Why would it run slower???
Any one in Littleton willing to hook up a datalogger and help us out? We feel like we wasted alot of money here:(

How much boost were you running a year ago vs this year? You need to upgrade your injectors and turbo. That turbo is a POS unless you REALLY know how to tune. I've see small turbos run REALLY damn well, but the driver really knew what he was doing, and he tuned the living hell out of the car. You need to practice launching and invest some more money in the right mods. Staged right, you'll get the right mods at the right time, instead of the wrong mods. I wouldnt worry about the exhaust until I got a turbo that flows more than the one you have. Open your intake, replace the IC pipes (RRE has CHEAP kits) and get new injectors with the right guages.
Just my 2 cents, flame away if you want..

I dont need to flame you, all suggestions are welcomed!!
and last year it was running stock boost, so I'm guessing only like 7psi or so.... this year about 1 bar, and you cant really drive an atomatic wrong, you just power brake it and then mash the gas.....

Dude... crank the boost to 15... That may be a big part of your problem.. You really need to take your car to the next level.. I think its about 5 HP or so for every psi of boost your pushing at this altitude.. Thats about MORE 40 HP you car can SAFELY push without any more mods.. Thats a bit off your car's 1/4 time... Not to mention with that auto ir can go pretty fast..
