ok so yesterday I get my CF hood installed. At 12 in the morning my alarm starts going off. The car was actually across town but I was told it went off twice for 15 minutes each time. I drive over there and hit the unlock button on the remote, open the door and the alarm goes off again. This is the stock alarm.....
Could changing the hood affect anything?? I have heard something about a hood sensor but have no clue where it would be at. Any help would be appreciated, right now I just disconnected the battery because I dont want to drive over there again tonight. Thanks

The hood sensor for alarms is usually just a little rubber button that the hood depresses when closed. Your new hood may not be pressing the switch all the way down.

I don't think your stock alarm should have a hood pin. Generally, were it an aftermarket alarm, there would be a pin added, which is usually not rubber, but metal.. There's a couple different kinds though. There's magnetic ones, that when the magnets seperate it sets it off, and then the other kind which would generally be used for a hood is just set by pressure, and screwed down to a certain point, so if the hood lifts off the pin, it will show a ground to the alarm and set it off. Most likely that's not what it is though..

I have already located it... and it is a rubber button very much like the one in your door.. it is depressed when you shut the hood. I just unplugged the thing, hopefully that will work. I now know how to shut off the alarm if it should go off again.. and if it becomes really stupid ill just pull the fuse for the security system

nawwww the security system is still working, and this evening I relocated the hood button so that I knew it would be pressed when the hood was shut.
