thanks to V8spanker's datalogging services on Sunday, my brother was able to shave some more time at the track. In street trim his car was pulling in 140 deg air, and had like 30 counts of knock at 3k or something and 6-8 counts at 4-5k. So at high school drags we put in some 104, and pulled the headlight, and up'd the boost a bit (it hit at 1.3 bar)....
His best timeslip was
R/t .819
60' 2.058
330 6.283
1/8 9.824
MPH 69.29
1000 12.875
1/4 15.438
MPH 88.72
and this is with an automatic transmission with the stock torque converter......we are pretty happy with the time
he had fun whoppin on the stock v8's and kids who didn't know how to launch
here is video of the run

Congrats. Amazing what octane can do, eh? Did you reset the ECU prior to running? If not, you most likely still had gobs of timing pulled.
And FWIW, 101 would have been just fine for 18psi, IMHO. 104 may have been slight overkill. Too much octane can have a negative affect on performance as well.
With that said - sounds like people had fun at the HS drags? Is the car an AWD? Did he build boost @ the line?

Thanks
We reset the ecu after each run....
and yes its and all wheel drive,
it builds boost at the line, right now we can power brake it and get it up to 3k rpm, hopefully with the higher stall converter we can get it up to 4k-5k...then we should see some 1.8 60' times and real low 15's
powerbraking 2.0 60's , There are alot of people with manual transmissions that would love to hit 2.0's:)
1.7 - 1.8 60' times are very very easy with a manual AWD launch on all season radials. :)
2.0 in an automatic is great! Congrats.

I was referring to cars with manual tran and rear or front drive would be envious of a guy hitting 2.0's with an auto tran.
gotta love awd

I picked up what he was referring to.
Even 700hp Supra guys would love 2.0s on street tires.;)

But 700 hp supra guys.. will catch you soo fast you won't know what hit you... 400 hp awd.... vs 700hp rwd think about that...

I'm not bagging on a Supra's 1/4 mile just the lack of traction on street tires as a result of their 700hp. Your 60' is a big deal,I heard just tonight a Z06 ran a 14.8 as a result of a 2.6 60'. Horsepower ain't shit if it just goes up in smoke.
No lie. I did, however, turn a 1.9 last year w/drag radials. That lightweight flywheel KILLS the launches, but I wouldn't trade it.

I was surprised my self to see a 2.0 60'....but I think when we get a higher stall torque converter we will see some 1.8-1.9 60' times.
and the nice thing about the automatic is that its fairly consistant, and yeah....you gotta love the AWD:)

Dave whats the plan now. Do you think it was just the tuning that you could get good traps or maybe the huge balls of fire. Maybe you car can only operate while burning coolant.. hehe

No I think these coil packs are weak. I'm replacing them today so we'll see what happens. if that works I"ll be happy.

Bwahahahah. If my insurance would allow it sure. Maybe in a couple years or something.
