It was exactly what I suspected. The exhaust cam is 1 tooth advanced and the intake cam is 1 tooth retarded. I'll redo the timing this saturday and try again next week. That explains the backfires.

huh, did you pull the cover when you were at the track?

so is this also contributing to the hesistation?

the top cover is always off but I didn't have a straight edge or a half inch rachet handle to turn the crank with.

Yeah this would be the hesitation problem and the 30* of timing problem as well.

So I'll redo it saturday and see what happens.
