Ok your going to have to explain this to me like I’m two...
I don’t know that much about race fuel. I know that it burns slower and will reduce knock. What I don't know is how to decide what octane to run?
I've seen some of it saying that is leaded and others not stating that. Is there a leaded and unleaded or are they all leaded?
Would it be ok for my engine to run leaded fuel in it?

There is both leaded and unleaded race fuel. Usually 101 is unleaded with 104 and higher being leaded. Leaded is just fine to run in any engine, except the only thing that you'll have to worry about more often is changing the o2 sensor as the lead will kill an o2 pretty quickly. Back in the midwest I really preferred the blue VP 110 leaded fuel, however it didn't work anywhere near as well up here at this altitude. Seems most people around here prefer the 101, from what I've seen. The only way for you to know what works best in your car is try each one and datalog.

Hmmm, are you talking about the "VP-110" Cody? You mention the color that's why I ask.
The VP-110 has a SG of .730. Now naturally, :D I'm wondering exactly why you are saying it didn't work out well up here for you.
Couldn't lean her out enough or what? Please give us all of the details man! Hehe.
This has been an intense area of interest for me and I have a hunch. I just picked up some VP fuel with a lower SG value on purpose.

Usually, the VP 110 is referred to as "blue". It has a better cooling characteristic than other octanes, and the red GSX loved it at 20 psi on a Joe P mbc back in Missouri without any fuel control or upgraded pump, but the 14B was ported and it had full 3" exhaust along with K/N and Magnecores and that was it. Tried to run some 110 from the Texaco over on west Alameda last year at 17-18 psi without any luck, it was knocking like a sun of a gun. Now it could just be that the difference of manufacturers played a big role in why it didn't work up here last year, I'm assuming that the 110 sold at Texaco isn't VP, but I've heard from mostly everyone around here that 101 and 104 is the best thing everyone has tried and that 110 doesn't do much. I wish I could have played around with the different octane ratings, but the '90 hasn't been running and it would have been useless to try it out on the stock Spyder or the non turbo. So my facts are based on both what I've experienced, though limited, and from "word of mouth". We were talking last weekend at the Stand about your findings with the gravity weights on these fuels and I'm also interested in the results. Hopefully, we'll be able to test it out on the '90 soon enough. :D
